Leaving Cert Self Service Portal - Very Important for All 6th years to Do from Wed 17th January
Created : 16 Jan 2024, 12:48 PM
Archived : 03 Feb 2024, 12:00 AM

In 2021, the State Examinations Commission (SEC) as part of its digital strategy, introduced a facility to allow Leaving Certificate candidates to confirm their subject and level entry details online (including adding or withdrawing from subjects), replacing the previous system of using individual Leaving Certificate candidate (E7) entry forms.  The use of the online system, the Candidate Self Service Portal (CSSP) will continue for the 2024 Leaving Certificate.

The portal will open tomorrow Wednesday 17th of January 2024 for candidates to register and activate their account and confirm their subject entries and levels. It will remain open for this purpose until 5pm Friday 02 February 2024.

Can you please advise all candidates in your school that it is essential that they register through the Portal as this Portal will provide candidates with the opportunity to confirm their subject choice and levels, to also allow future access to their results and for the later stages of the process such as the appeals application process.

The candidate portal can be accessed on www.examinations.ie  from 1pm on Wednesday 17th of January 2024

There is helpdesk support available at 1800-111135 or 1800-111136 between 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday until Tuesday 02 February 2024. Outside of these hours you can email candidateportal@examinations.ie

Policies Recently Reviewed and Published

In the last year, we have reviewed, created and approved several policies which are important to daily school life. They are: The Anti-bullying Policy (March 23), The Concussion Policy (Dec 22), The Substance Misuse Policy (Nov 23) and most recently the Code of Behaviour (Jan 24).

The Code of Behaviour has had several changes made in particular with regard to lateness and the sanction of detention, to the confiscation of phones and their collection, and the sanction for mitching (leaving school without permission) which has been changed from a 3 day suspension to having to sit a 2 hour Saturday Morning Detention. We feel that we have moved with the times and what parents also see to be common sense and ask parents that they read through the most relevant sections to their own son(s). At all times, we try to work with students and their parents/guardians to maintain a calm and peaceful school environment which promotes respect and enables learning.

Please find school policies on the App under the tab 'School' and then click on 'School Code & Policies'. Once in that you can scroll to find most information about our school, programmes, policies, etc.

Thank you for your support.

CBS condemns Thursday's Events in Dublin and all Rascism and Violence
Created : 25 Nov 2023, 11:02 AM

The Management and Staff of St Mary’s CBS totally condemn the events which unfolded in Dublin on Thursday evening. As a multicultural, multinational and multilingual school, we want our students and their families to know that they are welcome to our school, to our town and to our country. As Irish, we know how emigration has been and continues to be a constant part of our heritage and we appreciate how well the Irish are welcomed and treated abroad. Violence and rascism have no part in a civilised and modern Ireland  and understand that many will be fearful of Thursday night’s events heralding a change in how they are treated in future.

All our lives are valuable. All our children are to be protected and supported in whatever way we can, as a school. As always, RESPECT, is the most important value in St Mary’s CBS, and we assure you that it will continue to be so. Take care.
