1st Yr Trip to Cork
21 Mar 2024
The 1st Yr students enjoyed a lovely trip to Cork last week. They visited the Elizabeth Fort and learned about life from the 1600's up to 10 years ago when it was used as a Garda Station. The earlier times were tough for sure, with beheadings a regular event and the possibility of headless ghosts today!!!.
They also visited Nano Nagle Place which has a lovely interactive museum and contemplative garden. They learned of the Life of Nano and about the work that still goes on there today, where it continues as a site of two of Nano's passions - learning and community. The girls had fun dressing up in the clothes of that time and answering questions on touch screens which rang out different Church Bell sounds depending on whether you got the answer right or wrong.
A great trip over all. Lovely memories made.
