Dear Principal,
Further to our email earlier this week, we have reviewed the closing date for the Candidate Self Service Portal 2025 and wish to advise that the Candidate Self Service Portal will remain open until 5pm on Friday 14th February.
Leaving Certificate Candidate Self Service Portal 2025 will reopen Tuesday 04th February to Friday 14th February.
This decision was taken in the best interests of the candidates to provide them with every opportunity to confirm their entry for the examinations.
Candidates who registered previously in October 2024 can now also log in to amend subjects/levels.
Can you please advise all candidates that it is essential that they register through the Portal as this Portal will provide students with the opportunity to confirm their subject choice and levels, access their results and for the later stages of the process such as the appeals application process.
They will need to complete the following steps:
Leaving Certificate Candidates
STEP 1 Register to create your account
STEP 2 Confirm your Subjects and Levels
To register students will require their examination number and PIN (first 4 digits of your PPSN)
Candidates must engage with the portal and review the information presented very carefully and complete Step 1 -Registration and Activate their Candidate Self Service Portal account.
Once a Candidate has created their account they will receive an Account Activation email from the State Examinations Commission to activate your account. In order to complete the registration process, Candidates must click on the link in the email sent to their email account. The email will be from the State Examinations Commission. Clicking the link in the email completes the registration process and confirms the creation of their Candidate Self Service Portal Account. NB: An Account is not activated until a candidate clicks on the link in the Account Activation email.
Candidates must then proceed to Step 2. Confirm Subjects and Levels. Candidate will see the subjects which they are entered for currently and will be able to amend if necessary. Once they are satisfied they must click the Submit button. A confirmation email will then be sent to the email they registered on the portal outlining the subjects and levels they confirmed.
There is helpdesk support available at 1800-111135 or 1800-111136 between 9am to 5pm Tuesday 04th February to Friday 14th February or they can email candidateportal@examinations.ie

Cross and Passion College went down by 4 points in the second half but showed tremendous bravery, grit, and fight to battle back to win by a single point. It was an entertaining game of football from start to finish with both teams showing why they had made it so far in the competition.
Final Score: CPC 1-15 4-5 Creagh College
A great way to start off the Bank Holiday Weekend. Congratulations lads.

An email was sent to all TY parents/guardians earlier this week regarding next Wednesday's PTM. This meeting is online and appointments must be booked in advance. ALl teh details you need to do this are in the email. Please log in and do this today if possible. There are still 85 students with no scheduled appointments.

- Firstly, our 2nd Year Boys GAA team travel to Tinryland tomorrow to play in a South Leinster Final vs Creagh College. A great achievement to get so far and we are all wishing them the best of luck for tomorrow. Well done to Mr Mann, Mr Mulligan and all the squad.
- Junior Boys GAA team had a big win away to Carlow CBS on Tuesday and will hope to progress from the group when they play against Pres Carlow at home. Good luck to Mr Walsh, Mr Gibbons and all the squad.
- 1st and 2nd Year girls basketball has been underway with both teams having great wins against Naas CS this week. This result will see the team progress on to the semi finals! Well done to Ms Lloyd, Ms Murphy, Ms Clancy and all the squads.
- 1st and 2nd Year boys recently lost their first games of the year at home but will entertain Bagenalstown on Wednesday, best of luck to Mr Mann, Mr Mulligan and the lads involved.
- 1st Year Boys soccer have won both of their group games so far and will progress to the quarter finals. Well done to Mr Regan and all the squad.
- U15 boys unfortunately lost their recent quarter final vs a strong Maynooth P.P. team, having come out on top of their group earlier in the season. Well done to the squad on a great effort during the year.
- U17 boys will play a quarter final on Friday 31st January at home to Athy having gotten a great result away to Clane to qualify. Best of luck to Mr Gallagher and all the team.
- U19 boys have an upcoming semi final against Patrician Newbridge, with a date yet to be set.
- 1st Year girls soccer had a fantastic result away to Clane on Monday, running out 6-1 winners. Another great result, well done to Ms Doocey, Ms Murphy and the girls.
- U19 girls team reached the Leinster final and came second in their group, beating the team representing Kilkenny but losing to the team representing Meath. Well done to Ms Higgins and the girls involved with the team, Bethany Swaine, Lucy Curtis, Ali Griffin and Eloise Reddy.
- CPC Kilcullen had 3 different team representing at the KBA U16 blitz, with the Div 2 team taking home a silver medal. The U16 boys team, narrowly missed out on silver after losing their last match by only 5 points. Well done to all 20 students who took part on the day.

There is growing concern about the mental health and wellbeing of young people in Ireland. A stark dataset exists capturing the upward trend in psychological distress reported among children and teenagers. Countless concerned voices have highlighted the inadequate resourcing of mental health services for young people which has led to unacceptable waiting times to access help. Powerful accounts in the media have conveyed the devastating impact of the delays in trying to access support and how the inaccessibility of services compounds the psychological distress for young people and their families.
The experience of psychological vulnerability disempowers not just the child/teenager but their parents too as they struggle to know how to best support their child. Deep rooted anxiety among parents and caregivers about the increased rates of self-harm and suicidal acts reported among students intensify the stress of the situation stripping parents of their self-belief – a crucial tool in the often-long road supporting their child’s recovery.
Numerous studies have demonstrated that parental support is key to young people’s wellbeing and recovery. Indeed, research exploring what best helps children and teenagers recover from episodes of mental health challenge have found that the role of parents is crucial. One of the most constructive inputs for children and young people with mental health difficulties is to provide their parents and/or carers with accurate, accessible information to empower them towards appropriate, effective action. Many parents identify this at a turning point in their child’s journey to recovery. Children and teenagers too highlight how much more secure their path to wellbeing feels when they are safe in the knowledge that their parents understand what they are going through and have a roadmap to support their recovery journey.

First topic this school term will be the issue of ‘School Refusal’. Dr. Gavin will discuss the signs, symptoms and underlying causes, its impact on mental health of young people and the importance of addressing the issue early, while also offering strategies to help parents and teachers deal with it.
This term we will also discuss the issue of ‘Self-Harm’, helping parents and teachers to be able to understand what ‘self-harm’ is and what it is not. To recognise the signs and causes of young people self-harming, know how to manage the risk of self-harm, and
helpful responses,

Second-year students enjoyed a dynamic and engaging French lesson in our new physical activity room. They began by working at the whiteboard to recall previously learned vocabulary, which they then used to create role-plays in a French restaurant setting. With plenty of space to move around, they took on on the roles of waiters and customers, set tables, and served food. We ended the class with circle time, reviewing vocabulary and phrases through a game of catch, followed by an energetic activity where students ran to the coloured floor mats, following instructions from their classmates. It was a lively and exciting way to finish the school day, encouraging movement and interaction rather than remaining seated at desks.

The ‘Our Fundraiser’ national Christmas Giveaway competition was a great success. As a thank you to both new supporters and regular supporters, they are having a ‘Thank You Giveaway’ competition on 30th January 2025. This nationwide competition is open to all fundraising groups who use the service.
You do not have to do anything as you will be automatically entered into the competition if you have a ticket for the fundraiser draw on 30th January 2025. Prizes include a €1,500 Holiday Voucher, a €1,000 Cash Prize or 2 x Oasis Platinum Tickets.

Well done to Roisin Munnelly, Julia Loboz, Kayden Casey and Aoife Moran who are continuing with their work as volunteers at the Cara Rescue Centre for Girls in Kenya. We are looking forward to hearing about their experiences when they come home from this life changing and enhancing opportunity.
