The Good News keeps on coming! Huge congratulations to present and past students of Ms Lamont's Transition Year Green Schools Module, who have been working hard for the past three years towards obtaining a Green School Flag for our school. Committee members from the current TY class and 5th year class met with the inspector recently and are delighted to announce that they have been awarded the Green Schools Flag. The main initiative that they presented to the inspector was the weekly recycling of cardboard and paper from classrooms. The students collect, on average 6-8 bags of recycling each week, which would otherwise go to landfill. The also spoke about their Christmas Card recycling initiative and their recent purchase of bottle/can recycling bins that have been placed in the litter black-spots of the school.
Congratulations to all of the students involved. This is a huge achievement for them and for the school. Well done!
