Dear Parents and Guardians of First Years,
We have just finished a ten week pilot with First Years of our New Learning Code (Positive Behaviour System).
We intend to roll it out to the whole school in September and are seeking feedback from you as how how it went and if you have suggestions on how to improve it.
Your participation in this short survey would be of great help to us to better support your child(ren).
Kind regards,
Clare
On Thursday May 16th, the 5th Year School Tour took place to BaySports at the Hodson Bay in Athlone. 50 students along with tutors Mr. Sheridan and Miss Walsh and Year Head Mr. Magner enjoyed a beautiful day in the sun on Lough Ree engaging in a fun filled day of games and watersports. BaySports is home to the largest floating waterpark in Ireland and has one of the world's largest floating waterslides, something that caused quite an intake of breath as the bus rolled into the car park!
Upon arrival the students were kitted out in wetsuits, helmet and paddles and taken down to the shoreline for some team games and then a safety demonstration from their instructors. After that it was out on the water for over an hour, half spent kayaking and the other half Paddleboarding.
After that, the group enjoyed a great afternoon together on the inflatable waterslides and obstacle courses that make BaySports so well known. The group returned to the shoreline tired but happy for some food, and then their return journey to Athboy.
First Year student Lavine Corscadden delivered a speech last night with confidence on making Navan a neurodiverse town. She delivered this speech again this morning to her English class. She included her own experiences and delivered this to a captive audience. She is pictured her with Adam Harris from AsIAm Ms. C. Barrett
