James Byrne (3rd Year) became an ambassador for Barretstown Gang camp last Summer.
He had the honour of meeting Hillary Clinton and Sabina Higgins.
James presented a speech to Mrs Clinton, Minister Simon Harris and 150 guests for their Founders Dinner in Barretstown where he spoke eloquently with pride and dignity.
This took real courage, confidence and determination. The First Ladies now know many of his school experiences in Scoil Mhuire. Barretstown is the chosen charity for our Fifth Year's fundraiser this year, a most worthy cause.
We are most proud of James and wish him our very best wishes in this new role.

We were very fortunate to have Dr Niall Moyna give up his free time to address all our Third Year students this morning. Niall had us all captivated for an hour. His address was on the area of health and wellness. He told us that health is a combination of physical, mental and social wellbeing. He said that wellbeing is emotional, intellectual and social strands intertwined together. His aim he said was to stimulate each person to recognise their full potential - to realise and develop our unique talents. He stressed the importance of physical activity and the significance of the habits that are developed in adolescence and early adulthood. Some of Niall's presentations can be found on YouTube. A special word of thanks to Mr Caulfield for organising this for us.
