Check out the 2nd year Home Economics fashion sketches! In class, students learned about haute couture fashion design (original, unique designs usually made for catwalks) and applied their knowledge of design principles and features to create their own outfits. Well done!

First years made posters in Business class about Financial Service Providers. Well done to Manpreet Kaur, who was one of the winners in Ms. J. Byrne's class, and did an incredible job on her poster!
HFSS Talent Show !

HFSS Talent Show Do not forget to enter the HFSS Talent Show! Deadline for submission of entries is Thursday 11th February at 9 am, with winners announced on Friday 12th. You should enter early to allow your classmates time to view and like your entry! The Padlet links and the QR codes for each year group have been sent to you by email and have been posted in your year group assembly groups in TEAMS. Entry details for the HFSS talent show …. • You can enter as an individual, pair or group (please respect social distancing and current guidelines - perhaps you can collaborate digitally…) • You can submit a video of up to 3 mins length and you are free to choose whatever talent you would like to showcase.eg song / dance /sport / animation /art /bake along /juggling /amazing dog tricks /magic /stand-up comedy etc. • Depending on what type of entries we receive, we may have a number of sections. • Scan the QR code below to upload your video to the Padlet page (you do not need a Padlet account, it opens automatically when you scan it with your camera). • Please ensure you name your video - this is vital!! Otherwise, we will not know who has entered. You can do this when uploading your video, it gives you an option to ‘give a title’ – write your name in here) • All videos can be "liked." Judging will be decided by votes from 1. students (how many likes) 2. Wellbeing Committee 3. SRC (student representative council) • The Padlet account does not allow comments, only likes and it is a private page, only people with the QR code can view it. All videos need to be approved before they post (…so don't worry if they don't go up immediately!) • The finalists from each Year will go on to a HFSS whole school competition, which will take place after mid-term. • It is forbidden to share the QR code on your social media.

TY Christmas Baking

Our TYs have been busy baking up a storm for Christmas. They made and decorated festive cupcakes & baked chocolate chip cookies for staff in local nursing homes. Well done TYs!

Congratulations to Juliet Cahill (misprint on her cert) and Faye Dunne, both 2nd year Home Economics students, on achieving certificates of participation in a recent Kenwood Baking Competition which was run nationwide to encourage young people to do more baking at home.
