The Wellread Award is a National Initiative which aims to create heightened awareness about the importance of creating a culture of reading in school communities for our young people as part of their personal and academic development. Today Jack McMonagle, Cian Rogan, Annie Coulson, Ms. Kavanagh & Ms. Anderson represented Tarbert Comprehensive at the national awards ceremony in recognition of our schools work in fostering and nurturing a reading culture in our school and in bringing about an overall improvement in students’ literacy skills in a fun and engaging way

Senior Boys Soccer have second win

The Senior boys soccer team who beat Soil Ide ages Iosef of Abbeyfeale in the Munster Senior Cup. Talbert Comprehensive came out on top in what was a very tough game to make it two wins from two in the competition. Karl O' Sullivan scored both goals in the first half in an important 2-0 win.

As part of our efforts to increase the numeracy skills of our students and to make Maths enjoyable for all on Friday last all students downed tools and participated in Do 'Sumthing' Differnt. Students spent their class solving maths problems and playing mathematical games. The 40 minutes was a great success and was a great way to end Maths week. Well done to all involved.

Seven students attended Comhairle na nOg in Listowel on Friday 13th October. Kerry Comhairle's topic for 2017 is mental health. On the day the group participated in workshops on the topic. Well done to all involved.
Maths Week

In celebration of Maths Week this Thursday we held the Annual First Year Quiz. Students were faced with difficult maths problems and given the opportunity to show off their maths skills, while having fun. All students did excellently. In 1st place we had the Maths Geniuses In 2nd place we had Pie In 3rd place we had Agricultural Class. Congratulations to all and a big thank to those who helped.

TCS Senior Girls GAA Team In a borrowed jerseys, worn inside out and all feeling grateful to Hazelwood College for the loan of their spare set, our girls went on to play a very spirited game of football last Friday. Showing great determination, excellent team work and contesting every ball, our senior girls once again did themselves and their school proud by coming away from the Castlemahon pitch with a victory over the Dromcollegher school on a score line of 5:12 to 4:05
