Our Transition Year German students welcomed their exchange partners from Aulendorf for the second leg of the German Exchange Programme. They arrived to glorious sunshine last Thursday and enjoyed a walking tour of Naas. Our German visitors attended classes on Friday morning and then spent the weekend with their Irish families. Today they enjoyed a trip to Glendalough!
During Mid-Term Break, a group of 69 2nd Year students were accompanied by seven teachers on their Ski Tour to Bormio, Italy. They had a wonderful time skiing the slopes of The Alps and spending the week with their friends!
Well done to the boys for their enthusiasm and good spirits in learning this new skill. They worked hard adjusting to the skis in the first few days and this great effort paid-off, as they were able to explore new parts of the mountain in the latter stage of the week.
A special mention to our advanced group of 'seasoned skiers' who regularly skied the Cima Blanca Piste which has the longest descent in the whole of Italy! This piste runs from top to bottom of Bormio and with a vertical drop of 1800m from an altitude of 3000m, it is twice the height of Lugnaquilla!
The group stayed in Hotel Cepina where we were served a beautiful four course meal each evening and experienced real Italian food! We spent Monday evening in Bormio Terme and the boys had great fun swimming in these thermal pools overlooked by the snowy mountains. Later in the week, the group enjoyed an evening in Bormio where the boys went ice-skating and had a meal in a local Pizzaria.
The behaviour and attitude from the boys was exemplary throughout and this made the trip an enjoyable and pleasant experience for all. It is a privilege to be able to offer so many students such a memorable experience and hopefully the boys also appreciate the effort made by their parents in securing a place for them on the ski trip.
Thank you to Ms. M. Murphy, Ms. Masterson, Ms. Fleming, Ms. Lonergan, Ms. C. O’Brien, Mr. Fitzgibbon and Mr. McGuinness who travelled with and looked after the boys during the week. The feedback from students and parents has been hugely positive; the opportunity afforded to the boys to travel on a ski trip is very much appreciated.
Please follow the link below to view photos and videos from the ski trip. Thanks to the teachers for taking photos and videos during the week to capture these memories for the boys.

Naas CBS delivered a commanding performance in the ultimate game of the league, securing an empathic 7-2 victory over St Mary’s CBS Portlaoise. On a crisp, clear day, Naas demonstrated their dominance from the outset, showcasing their attacking prowess and tactical discipline.
First Half:
The match began at a blistering pace, with Naas CBS asserting control almost immediately. Their fluid passing and relentless pressing left Portlaoise struggling to gain a foothold in the game. By halftime, Naas had surged to a 5-0 lead, with standout performances across the pitch.
Matthew Galvin of Klub Kildare shone brightest, orchestrating the attack with finesse and contributing to several of Naas’s goals. His vision, work rate, and technical ability earned him the well deserved Man of the Match award.
Second Half:
The second half saw Portlaoise rally with moments of determination and creativity.
They managed to pull two goals back, showing resilience and flashes of quality.
However, Naas CBS continued to dominate, adding two more goals to their tally to seal an impressive 7-2 victory.
Key Moments:
Naas’s First-Half Blitz: A devastating 5-0 lead at halftime effectively decided the game early.
Portlaoise’s Response: Two second-half goals showed heart and grit, despite the uphill battle.
Matthew Galvin’s Performance: His all round excellence set the tone for Naas CBS’s dominance.
Conclusion:
With this victory, Naas CBS wraps up the league campaign in style and advances to
the next stage after Christmas. The team, thrilled with their performance, will carry
momentum and confidence into the knockout rounds.
