Throughout the month of November, students and staff in CPC paused to remember loved ones we have lost.
R.E. classes went to the sacred space and spent time reflected on how their lives where impacted by people who have passed.
Students and staff wrote the names of loved ones who have passed on a tag and placed their name on our remembrance tree.
Today, Jennifer Dowling, a member of the Ember Team asked us all to pause, take a moment and remember loved ones who have gone before us and then led us through a reflection.

After the class meeting this morning, Ms. Harney switched on the first candle on our advent wreath.
This purple candle represents Hope. It reminds Christians of the messages from the Prophets to await the arrival of the Messiah.
Our advent wreath and advent table were arranged by the Ethos Committee in the school. They are on display in the foyer at the DayBreak entrance.
Ms. J. Burke also led a prayer service in the sacred space at 1.35 p.m. this afternoon.

Over the last number of weeks, 4D have been running a food drive as part of their St Vincent de Paul (SVP) class. This was not only to raise awareness of real social injustices, but to act on it. 4D would like to thank every student, parent and member of staff who donated non-perishable food items for an important cause. Your generosity is very appreciated.
The food items have now been delivered to Kilcullen SVP charity shop, where the food will be distributed to local families who need support. Thank you.

Today, November 21st, is Founder’s Day.
As a school we remembered Elizabeth Prout and the Cross and Passion Sisters and their contribution to the whole school community and the town of Kilcullen.
To mark the day, each year group were invited to an assembly, where members of the Ember Team (Jennifer Dowling & Chen Liu) delivered a presentation about the life of Elizabeth Prout and the Sisters of Cross and Passion.
Each year group then bowed their heads in prayer and said the Le Chéile Prayer together.
The significance of Founder’s Day was also discussed during our class meetings today.
Please find attached a copy of the slides presented today.
We look forward to marking Founder’s Day, every year going forward.
