Well done to our U/16 ladies team who were crowned Leinster Champions this afternoon in Maynooth University after a thrilling victory against Loretto Balbriggan. Both team started the game well kicking four points apiece but once CPC got in front they never looked back and a Nicola Whelan goal ensured that the girls led 1-09 to 0-07 at half time. Balbriggan scored a quick goal to start the 2nd half but CPC responded with 2 of their own from Roisin Cahill and Sophie Ngai. The full time score was 3-14 to 1-15 and all that was left to do was for Captain Hannah Crowley to collect the silverware. Sophie Ngai was awarded player of the game with a personal tally of 1-05. Well done to all of the girls and this is a true reflection of the talent and desire that they all possess. Special thanks to their coaches Ms.Murphy and Ms.Malone. Next up is the All-Ireland semi final with the fixture to be confirmed.
Cars idling - an interesting thought

An interesting observation from a parent and a request to all who visit the school - could visitors please not leave car engines idling whilst they wait? This little suggestion might make people switch off a bit sooner - and thereby improve the air quality and contribute to sustaining the environment in a small way. Thank you.

Sincere thanks to Sandra and Dave Wilson who shared their inspirational stories of volunteering with our TY students. They spoke about motivation, purpose and the impact volunteering has on the community and oneself. We learned about how Sandra and Dave began their volunteering journey as teenagers helping in Cuan Mhuire and Our Lady's Hospice, Harold's Cross respectively. We also heard about the various ways Sandra and Dave have raised both awareness and funds for the Irish Cancer Society. It was our great pleasure to welcome them to our school and to know we are never too young to volunteer, to make a difference to our community and how important that difference is no matter how small it may be.
