The TYs had a great time with past pupil Aisling getting a make-up tutorial in preparation for the musical — all part of show business!
At lunch time, staff and students competed in an obstacle relay. All had an amazing time!

Thursday was a very special occasion as OLS celebrated Le Chéile Day as well as IWD and the dome opening! The event was organized by our Chaplain, Mr Sneyd, and the Le Chéile Council, who spread kindness by welcoming students and staff with chocolate treats at the school’s entrance. This thoughtful gesture set a positive tone for the day.
Seachtain na Gaeilge continued and during lunchtime yesterday, a House Quiz was held, fostering some friendly inter-house competition and camaraderie among students!
This morning, the Transition Year (TY) students embarked on a two-day hike to Glendalough for their Gaisce Adventure journey, embracing nature and teamwork. We wish them the best of luck!
A special congratulations goes to Freya Nugent, Ria O'Sullivan, and Tara Gaffney for their remarkable Junk Kouture achievement! Their entry, "Revamped Rio," has advanced beyond the semi-finals of this year's Junk Kouture competition to the finals which will be held in May. The girls showcased their stunning garment on the catwalk at The Helix last night. It is a phenomenal achievement to get to the next stage of such a fiercely contested competition!
On Thursday, March 6th, we had a day filled with excitement and inspiration. Firstly, the Board of Management was invited to commemorate the day with the Dome Opening Ceremony, celebrating the completion of the dome project, a testament to OLS's dedication to fostering a culture of physical activity, sport and student well-being. The school extends its deepest gratitude to the school community and particularly the Board of Management and the Sisters of the Religious of Christian Education for their invaluable support and involvement in this project. Katie, Sports Captain, spoke on behalf of the student body and thanked the key contributors to the dome's completion.
The morning continued with more celebration as Rachel, Head Girl, and Maria, Deputy Head Girl, hosted our International Women's Day guests of honor. These included past pupil Anne Marie Hughes, Head of Equity, Diversity & Inclusivity at the IRFU; past pupil Ellen Walshe, double Irish Olympic swimmer and World Championship silver medalist; Charlie Murphy, 6th Year, Dublin Football Minor Captain; and Éile Caffrey, 5th Year, Dublin Minor Camogie Captain. This was a very special ceremony as the speakers shared their stories of sport, leadership, ups and downs. It was inspirational and energising!
To culminate the International Women's Day celebrations, these four incredible women were invited to have their portraits added to the Wall of Inspiration. This honor not only recognises their achievements but also serves as a powerful reminder to inspire future generations of students. OLS could not be more proud of the achievements of its past and present pupils.
To celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge, the 6th Year Leadership Team organized a vibrant lunchtime céilí that filled the school with music and laughter. The students thoroughly enjoyed themselves, immersing in the craic of Irish culture and language.
This morning, members of the Le Chéile team distributed ashes in the GPA for Ash Wednesday.
Well done to the U14 badminton team who won their Dublin final yesterday, a phenomenal achievement!
A reminder that tomorrow, Wednesday, is the deadline for this.
For any student wishing to study Applied Maths as an extra subject (it runs after school), please input this as your 7th choice so it does not impact your preference order for your in-school options.
Please note all students are asked to fill out 7 preferences.
Many thanks.
