Griffith College Free Mathematics Easter Revision Workshops for Leaving Certs

Griffith College (private fee-paying) will be holding its annual Free Mathematics Revision Workshops online for Higher (11th April) and Ordinary (8th April) level Maths over the school Easter break for Leaving Certificate students. Dr. Tomás Mac Eochagáin, Director of Academic Programmes, is the presenter of the course, with over 25 years of experience in teaching mathematics. The Kemmy Business School (KBS) together with UL and the Business Studies Teachers Association of Ireland (BSTAI) held their annual Junior Cycle Business Studies Awards Ceremony recently. It was a virtual ceremony to acknowledge the outstanding performance of students from across the mid-west region in their Junior Cycle Business Studies Exam in 2019. Congratulations to our three Tarbert Comprehensive students, Amy White, Camilla Bunce & Michael Treacy. who were among 105 students rewarded.

MTU Campus are hosting the following programmes and events; 1. MTU I WISH virtual campus programme for FEMALE TY students only, Wednesday 5th to Friday 7th May 2021. Expressions of interest before Wednesday 24th March at 5.00 pm. This is a FREE programme. 2. Cyber Security Academy are running their first ever Cyber Security virtual summer programme to be held in June (dates to be confirmed) for students from 4th, 5th & 6th year (Senior Cycle) Expressions of interest through donna.oshea@cit.ie (Poster attached) 3. MTU WiSTEM society are running an Apprenticeship Information Webinar on Tuesday, 30th March at 6.00 pm for any students interested in pursuing a career in Apprenticeship. Information will be available on craft apprenticeships at MTU and new apprenticeships. Speakers include: Mr. Michael Hourihan, Head of Craft Studies MTU, Trish Breen, Apprenticeship Programme Manager, IBEC, Darren Fitzgerald, Manufacturing Engineering Programme Coordinator MTU, Cian Anderson, Manufacturing Engineer and Apprenticeship Programme Manager, DePuy Synthes and students currently studying at MTU through the apprentice programme. Students, teachers and parents all welcome to attend. Registration is through Zoom Webinar Registration. 4. MTU Succeeding Together events: www.mtu.ie/succeedingtogether learn how to cook great meals, explore your artistic talents, try yoga and pilates, consider how to become an entrepreneur, learn about new technologies, and understand more about space and the universe in which we live. These events will be of interest to post primary and higher education students, parents/guardians/supporters of students, and people in general. The first event is this Monday, 22nd March at 7.00 pm, it is being hosted by the Department of Tourism & Hospitality, and will provide a demonstration of how to cook a great meal and prepare non-alcoholic mocktails.
