A big well done to Cavina in 5th year, who was one of the finalists in the Heathy Chef Competition. Cavina cooked a delicious Vegetable Satay Style Noodles served with a fried egg. Cavina was one of 16 students to make the final out of hundreds of candidates in Ireland.

Great news, Meadbh Hartnett (3s) received second prize in the all Ireland Healthy Chef cookery competition today in Sligo The competition was judged by a panel of experts from St. Angela’s College including award winning chef and Home Economics Ambassador Nevin Maguire. 5th Years enjoyed a great day at the SVP Youth Day in Lucan today with Sr. Kate and Ms Cleary.
We are absolutely delighted to share with you that two HFSS students have been selected for the Finals of the All Island Healthy Home Chef 2024 competition.
Cavina Whiteley, a 5th year Home Economics student (and one of the school's 6th year Senior Prefects Team elected for next year), will represent HFSS as a Senior finalist in the competition.
Meadbh Hartnett, a 3rd year Home Economics student, will represent HFSS as a Junior Finalist in the same competition.
The competition is open to all students in post-primary schools on the island of Ireland.
The competition will take place in St. Angela’s College of Education, Sligo next week on Tuesday, 30th April (Junior) and on Wednesday, 1st May (Senior) . The competition will be judged by a panel of experts from St. Angela’s College including award winning chef and Home Economics Ambassador Nevin Maguire.
Well done to all the students from Holy Family Secondary School who entered the competition.
