A reminder that the Sixth Year Leadership Team is fundraising to raise money for three charities: Oscars Kids, The Marie Keating Foundation and Loreto Aweil. Our spectacular teachers have agreed to participate in a dance battle and will dance-off against each other on Friday, May 9th. There will be a daily monetary target. As we reach each target, we will reveal on the school intercom a new teacher participating in the dance battle. All three charities are extremely important to our school community. Oscars Kids is an organisation established to support children with cancer, bringing magic to their lives along the way. The Marie Keating Foundation focuses on cancer prevention by spreading cancer awareness and the importance of early detection. The Loreto Order is building a new school in Aweil, South Sudan, to provide quality education for the area. In the last two years, the Sixth Year Leadership Teams raised almost €10,500 for charity. With your support we can continue to contribute to worthwhile causes. Every penny counts, so please donate what you can.
Thank You
Sixth Leadership Team

Dear Parents and Students,
I hope you are enjoying the Easter break.
Please note that due to system updates, all students are required to turn on their laptops for at least one hour this week while connected to Wi-Fi. If this is not done, the laptop may not connect properly to the school Wi-Fi on Monday.
Thank you for your attention to this.
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As part of our whole-school approach to assessment, all 1st, 2nd and 5th Year students are receiving a continuous assessment report at Easter.
These reports are now available to view on Vsware.
Reports contain a grade which is based on continuous assessment of students’ work (e.g. tests, assignments, classwork, homework). The criteria for grades have been communicated to students by their individual subject teachers.
A teacher comment also appears on the report and is formative, focusing on how students are managing their learning. The comments may refer to such areas as steps that can be taken to improve learning and how to prepare for summer exams.
As we approach the final weeks of the school year and summer exams, the report is also designed to facilitate conversations between parents/guardians and students about how they are managing their learning and study.
Wishing you all an enjoyable Easter break.
Kind regards,
Suzanne Lea
Leader of Teaching and Learning
