Created : 16 Apr 2024, 12:33 PM
Archived : 29 Apr 2024, 8:48 AM

 Dear parents/guardians,

We were asked to pass on this information to you on behalf for Bus Éireann:

As you are aware Bus Éireann operates the school transport scheme on behalf of the Department of Education.  Applications for the next academic year are currently being received from parents.

The local school transport office has concerns due to the decreased numbers that families have not yet enrolled their children and they could miss out in securing a seat on the school bus.

Applications for School Transport for the new school year are currently open and can be accessed online at www.buseireann.ie/inner.php?id=522

  • Details of the scheme are also available on Bus Éireann’s website and Department of Education’s website gov.ie/schooltransport.
  • The closing date for NEW school transport applications is Friday 26th April 2024 – critical date, 2 weeks to go
  • Existing school transport applications will automatically roll over into the new school year
  • Payments or medical cards can be received up to Friday 7th June 2024

 Yours Sincerely,

School Transport Team, Bus Éireann

Permanent Accommodation Delays

Dear Parent, Guardian, Carer

We hope that this letter finds you all well. We are writing to update you on our permanent accommodation and seek your help in contacting local elected representatives to outline the need for the construction process to commence as soon as possible.

Recently, we were contacted by our patron, Educate Together to inform us that the tenders for our school have been opened, are being processed and that we should expect a decision mid 2024 with construction to commence very shortly after the contractor has been announced.

As you know, we were previously informed that we could expect a decision at the latest by the end of Quarter 1 2024 and construction to commence shortly thereafter. We are hugely frustrated with yet another delay and need your help.

We seek your support in contacting each of our local elected representatives (details attached) to highlight our concerns and ensure that there are no further delays. Please see attached proposed text.

In order to maximise the impact of our school’s communication, we ask that all emails/letters be sent on Monday 4th March 2024.

Thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards,

Padraig Conaty,

Principal/Secretary to Board of Management
