GAA in Harold's Cross ETSS
Created : 05 Feb 2025, 3:17 PM
Archived : 05 Apr 2025, 12:00 AM

Dear parents, guardians,

We are contacting you regarding GAA in our school.

Please see below dates for GAA training after school on Friday for all Year Groups (Girls and Boys).

  • Feb 7th 14th , 28th
  • March 7th, 21st, 28th
  • April 4th , 11th
  • May 2nd , 9th

Training will take place in Templeogue Synge Street (TSS) GAA grounds at Dolphin Park.

If we have to schedule a match on any of these dates for a specific year group, unfortunately, we may need to cancel training for the other year groups.

Similarly, in the event that we are not permitted by TSS to use their pitch due to poor weather, we may need to cancel training at short notice.

In the event of either of above, we will notify all students on the Friday morning via the school intercom and the Sports noticeboard outside Room 16 and all parents via the school app.

We also look forward to hosting our annual Educate Together GAA blitz in Term 3.  Date and times to be confirmed.

Thank you for your continued support.

 Kind regards,

School Office.

When: Wednesday, April 2nd at 7:30 PM

 Where: Peggy Kelly's Pub

How Much: €15 per person, or grab a table for €60 (because teamwork makes the dream work... or at least makes the losing slightly less painful).

Grab your tickets from the link below, grab your mates, and let's see who's the pub quiz champion (or at least the team with the best excuses). See you there!

SOME DATES FOR YOUR DIARY!

Wednesday 5th March 7pm (Local Venue: TBC)

The PSA in conjunction with Padraig and Mick have invited Eoghan Cleary to come and speak to our parent body about issues around teen social media and mobile phone use and the need for legislative protections for children online.

Eoghan is an assistant principal, English teacher and coordinator of SPHE and curricular wellbeing at Temple Carraig Secondary School in Greystones. He was recently appointed to the Online Health Task Force (an initiative set up by the Dept. of Health). He is also a founding member of the Gen Free Campaign calling for legislative protections for children online.

This is a talk not to be missed.

The event is free of charge however space is limited so an eventbrite link will be circulated through the school app in the coming weeks. Be sure to book your space as soon as possible.

Wednesday 2nd April  7:30pm (Peggy Kelly’s Pub, Harold’s Cross)

Our annual Parents’ Table Quiz is back! A night of craic, camaraderie and comprehension! Pop the date in your diary and gather your teammates. Details of how to buy tickets will be circulated closer to the date. This is for the whole school so tickets will sell fast and space is limited. Be sure to bag yours as soon as they become available. Watch this space!

PS: get in touch with your year rep if you have a raffle prize to donate

Tuesday 25th February 7pm (Home Economics room, HCETSS)

Thermomix have kindly donated one of their amazing machines worth over €1,500 as a raffle prize . This will be up for grabs at the school musical.

In advance of that however their lovely rep Sheila is going to demonstrate how to use this amazing machine.

It will be an informative and fun evening in the home economics room at the school; come hungry as there will be lots of delicious dishes to sample! If you haven’t heard of Thermomix and want to familiarise yourself with it check out their YouTube page: https://www.youtube.com/@Thermomixukandire

If you win the machine you will want to know how to use it! Looking forward to seeing you there.
