Well done to the juvenile boys football who beat enniscrone in the group stage 4-10 to 3-7 to progress to the knockout stages.
They will play castlerea in the next round on Thursday the 30th of march.
2nd year history trip

Our second year students had a great day on Wednesday when they visited the Henrietta Street Museum and undertook the Glasnevin Cemetery Museum tour. The day ended with the obligatory stop off at Liffey Valley. It was a very enjoyable trip.
Science Club - Microscope lab!

Recently our science club carried out a microscope lab where students became familiar with using the microscope and explored samples they brought in themselves.
Samples included salt, lake water and more!

We would ask all students to bring their jackets home this week. There are a number of jackets left in the canteen with no form of identification. Any jackets left here after Friday evening will be given to charity. Please make sure students check before then. Thank you.

Following unprecedented demand, Dr Gavin has accepted to do a second evening on her talk on 'Understanding Anxiety in Teenagers' and 'Understanding Depression in Teenagers'. Dr. Gavin has also offered to do a talk on 'Anxiety and Treatment' with us in April.
1. 'Understanding Anxiety in Teenagers' and 'Understanding Depression in Teenagers' with Dr. Blanaid Gavin via zoom on Thursday, March 30th from 7-9pm.
2. 'Anxiety and Treatment' with Dr. Blanaid Gavin via zoom on Thursday, April 20th from 7-9pm
Our Parents Talks are free to parents. Demand is very high and places are limited so we run entry to the talk on a first-come basis. We are unable to provide a recording so please do show on the night. Although we will do our utmost to accommodate everyone, once capacity is reached, we are unable to allow any further entries.

Indoor Rowing Success!

Today (15/03/2023), we had over thirty students taking part in the annual Indoor Rowing Competition held at the Sligo Grammar School.
All students put in a massive effort in both Individual and Team events.
Special mention to the U16 Girls team who came first in their race: Claire Walsh, Sarah Walsh, Georgia McClelland, Clodagh Connelly & Emma Walsh.
Also to Gareth McGettrick who won his u14 boys indivdual event and Claire Walsh who won her u14 girls individual event.
Very well done to all students!
Lastly, huge thanks to the Sligo Rowing club for organising the event and supplying us with rowers to help students practise.
Global Schools trip- Strandhill beach

Well done to all students that participated in the Upcycling workshop and Beach clean up at Strandhill yesterday as part of the Global schools programme. The students collected over 15kg of waste and learned about the dangers of marine pollution to the sustainability of our seas and oceans. After lunch we went on a guided coastal walk toward Killaspugbrone church where Mr Lyng pointed out some geographical features along the way. It was a great day out for all staff and students .Thanks to Mr Lyng, Ms McGrath and Ms O’Donnell for leading the trip.
