Students perform at WRaPParound showcase in Trinity College

Very proud of our 2nd year students who performed their poems at the WRaPParound showcase event held in Trinity College on Tuesday. 

Schools from all over the country performed at the WRaPParound (Writing, Reading and Performance Poetry) event and it was a wonderful to watch students stand up and perform their poems, raps and songs.

Our students worked with Leon Dunne, the JCSP Writer in Residence and the 2022 All-Ireland Poetry Slam Champion to write their poems.

2025 Sponsored Walk

Tomorrow Friday 11th April 2025, the school community will all participate in this years Sponsored Walk. Students, alongside their Yearhead and Tutors will leave the school at 10:50 and walk the 3.5km route. Parents are welcome to join in on the day.

Please ensure your child wears suncream as the weather is hot, and all students have permission to wear their tracksuits.

SPONSORSHIP CARDS MUST BE RETURNED TOMORROW, with or without any money raised.

️Donut and Games parties in our JCSP Library to celebrate the Reading Challenge Winning class (Caitríona Class) and Runners Up (Sadhbh Class). Well done all! ️

Students and staff enjoyed some delicious donuts, listened to music and played board games to reward the students’ hard work and dedication to reading throughout the 6 Week Reading Challenge. 
A variety of donuts were purchased by the library but the Dubai Bar Crunch, Smartie Explosion and the Bueno Bueno proved most popular.

Intercultural Day 2025

Our Intercultural Day on Friday was a huge success! Thank you to all the parents that joined us, to the students who took part in showcasing their culture, and to Ms Donoghue and Ms Cleary for organising. A fantastic day all round.
Poetry and Rap Workshop

Leon Dunne, spoken word artist and poet, spent the afternoon in our JCSP Library working with a group of second-year Music students. 

This marks his third and final workshop with the group. Today, students completed their poems, typed them up, and practised reading them aloud in preparation for the WRaPParound showcase at Trinity College on April 29th.
