Library News- World Book Day 2025

Many thanks to these second years who helped choose and carry back books from our local bookshop, Chapters.
We are preparing for World Book Day, which is next Thursday March 6th. We will have Book Tokens and WBD books available from the library all day Thursday, and we will hold a Book Quiz in the library on Thursday during lunchtime.
We encourage students and staff to dress up in book-themed costumes during lunch, with prizes for the best costumes and for quiz winners! The Reading Challenge will finish on World Book Day and results will be announced after lunch.
Visit from Elma Walsh

Yesterday, we were honoured to welcome Elma Walsh to our school to speak with our TY and 5th year students. Elma, the mother of the late Donal Walsh, shared his inspiring story and important message about resilience and mental health. Donal’s legacy continues to have a profound impact, and we are incredibly grateful to Elma for her time, wisdom, and encouragement. Thank you, Elma, for delivering such a powerful and meaningful talk to our students.
Make a Book Exhibition

A huge well done to our 2nd year JCSP group who attended the Make a Book exhibition today. They presented their book 'A Witches Guide to Glam'; containing Witches' profiles, hair tips, horoscopes and history. A special well done to Ruby and Blessed who presented on behalf of the group. 

Workshop with Leon Dunne

2nd year Music students enjoyed a workshop with renowned spoken word artist, Leon Dunne yesterday. Leon will be working with this group over the next few months to create pieces for the upcoming WRAaPParound showcase on the 29th of April.
