Our LCA1 class had a thoroughly enjoyable visit to Cullies Service Station as part of our Hotel Catering and Tourism studies. We did an excellent tour, enjoyed a delicious lunch and the highlight was when we got to each pull an ice cream cone. Many thanks to Jim Burke and all his staff for looking after us so well.
Our 6th year students welcomed Laura Le Cleach, Attaché Culturel with the French Embassy in Ireland to school for a special visit. Madame Le Cleach met with students and teachers of French and gave a really engaging seminar on French language and culture in the Concert Hall. The afternoon included wonderful performances in French from our students!
Winners of the 2024 ‘Dis-Moi Dix Mots’ were also awarded their certificates and a trophy along with a special video message from H.E. Céline Place, French Ambassador to Ireland.
Our French Assistant for this year Camille Zammit introduced herself to our Leaving Certificate students. Camille will offer valuable support to students in developing their language skills in the year ahead.
Congratulations to Aoife Doherty & Grace McCusker who were finalists in the Francophonia competition hosted by the Alliance Française yesterday. Both Aoife & Grace were excellent representatives of our school. Grace & Aoife both won a place on a French course in the Alliance Française. Grace, the overall winner on the night also won a trip to Paris! Congratulations Grace on this wonderful achievement. Félicitations!!
Investigating mean and deviation in Statistics today was extra sweet for our TY students thanks to the 'Distribution of Sweets' activity. They sharpened their skills and even got to enjoy the tasty treats afterwards! Engaging, fun, and educational – the perfect combination! #MathsInAction #HandsOnLearning #TYFun #projectmaths #imta"
Ms. Fitzpatricks 1st Year Geography students explored plate tectonics with oreos this week. Yum! Great work everyone!
