Our wellbeing prigrammes are currently underway for our students. These programmes provide a supportive and educational aspect to enrich the curriculum. These programmes provide information and enable students grow and understand wellbeing, RSE and mental health.

YES Programme -Youth Work Ireland

The Yes Project is a Europe wide initiative to provide young people with empowering sexual health and reproductive education in a community setting. Youth workers to deliver SRE to young people. This project is based on the need identified by Youth Work Ireland through a consultation with young people in Spring 2018, for young people to be involved in the development of a resource to support their learning around health and safety issues related to their sexual health.

The YES Project will consist of 3 one-hour sessions focusing on one topic with the aim of supporting youth workers and educators in their practice.

Be Well Programme- Our Generation

 

Be Well is an emotional resilience programme which educates young people on feelings of anxiety and teaches coping strategies. The programme uses the 5-A-Day approach to help people build resilience. Be Well use the 5-day approach to mental wellbeing.

Music grou has commenced in the school, taking place on Wednesdays at 1.30pm. This is a fantastic opportunity for musicians to play together, collaborate and present their music at school organised competitions, activities and events.

Kayaking Day 1 took place on Brackley Lake with Cavan Adventure Centre. Our 1st Years and TY Group 1 took to the water today for a fun activity. The weather and water was glorious.

Ms Prior and Ms Brady have embarked on a training course in conjunction with PDST, TUS, TUD and the University of Cincinnati. We want to raise the spatial ability levels of all children in St. Mogue's College through targeted instruction, but especially girls and those of low SES, so they are better prepared for the cognitive demands of STEM learning, get more enjoyment from studying STEM and migrate in greater numbers to STEM education and careers.
