HSCLO, Ms. Mc Eneaney would like to thank the parents who participated in the Easter Craft Night in St. Mogues College on Tuesday 1st April.
The brilliant Taragh from the Craft Cabin in Ballyconnell was there, expertly guiding everyone through the process of creating a beautiful Easter Basket decoration. Ms. Mc Eneaney prepared some Easter Muffins for the well deserved Tea Break at the end. It was a great night of learning some new skills in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Well done to everyone involved.
Dear Parent/Guardian,
In response to several enquiries today and this evening, please note the following;
If your child has not gone on the Delphi trip, it is expected that they attend school as normal. If not, these absences will be recorded as "Unexplained".
There are 27 Second Years and 28 First Years who did NOT travel to Delphi and it was never suggested that these 55 students take a 3 day break instead of the trip to Delphi.
Firstly, congratulations to all students for participating in the March 2025 Attendance Challenge. As team members and as individuals, many students have improved their attendance by focussing on eliminating "Unexplained Absences". We hope that parents and students will have gained some insight into how quickly such days can build up and effect teaching and learning. We have learned from the challenge and there is work to be done.
This morning, we had the last of the Attendance Challenge Raffles. The top prize of a 14" TV went to Artur Yurkov in 2nd year and Artur was present for every day of the challenge. Congratulations to him.
Siobhan Maguire (5A) & Aurora Crespo Vivas won the Fit Bit Bracelets and (4B), Francesca Alessandrini (4B),Nelly Maldere (1A) and James McManus (2B) won Bluetooth Headphones.
The prizes were presented by HSCLO, M. Mc Eneaney
After a hard fought battle between the Attendance Teams, the aptly named Unstoppables came out on top, recording 27 un explained absences between them during the 4 week challenge.
Its was a very close finish with The Incredibles just loosing out with a score of 28 followed by The Thunderbirds on 29!!
The Unstoppables will be rewarded with a trip to the cinema. Well done to them all.
Well done again to everyone who participated.
Yesterday has changed the appearance of the scoreboard as the largest number of Unexplained Absences so far were recorded.
A total of 56 students made the decision not to go to school yesterday and did not offer any explanation for this.
As we head into the last day, its all to play for. There is very little separating The Thunderbirds (29), The Unstoppables (26) and The Incredibles.( 27)
The Dark Knights on 30, The Musketeers on 31 and The Adventurers on 33 are also still in the running!
