Dear Parent/Guardian,
Our Attendance Challenge is underway! All students have been assigned to one of ten teams, aiming to reduce the number of unexplained days off.
The first 3 days have reinforced some of the findings of the recent Parent Survey. When asked to identify the top reason for absences, almost 84% of parents reported that "ILLNESS" is the No. 1 cause of their child being off school.
Please find attached a link to an interesting article entitled "When is it ok to keep my child off school?"

Please also see attached some examples of acceptable and unacceptable reason for absences.
Don't forget that you should contact the school & arrange to meet with the Home School Liaison Officer if there are issues around your child's attendance that you need help with. A meeting in the school or a home visit can be arranged.
