We returned to school today after a memorable three-day Erasmus+ experience at the Model United Nations conference in Belgium. Our students, Aoibhe, Eleanor and Sam performed exceptionally well, demonstrating strong diplomacy, critical thinking, and public speaking skills. We congratulate Sam Moussoulides for his outstanding achievement of winning the overall prize for Best Delegate in the General Assembly, among no less than 110 delegates from 12 countries. The competition was intense, but our team’s preparation and dedication truly paid off. A big thank you to Ms. Thorpe, our debating teacher, who assisted the students with their position papers and research in the weeks leading up to the event. We returned home with big smiles, proud of our achievements and the valuable lessons we learned. This experience not only strengthened our confidence but also deepened our understanding of global issues and the importance of international cooperation. We are very grateful to the Erasmus programme and EU funding for making our participation in the conference possible. This morning, we welcomed in our incoming First Yrs 2025-2026 as they completed their Post-Primary entrance exam. It was great to see all the boys and girls, although maybe a little nervous upon entering, they left with an air of confidence and lightness once it was over. Well done to everyone, and we look forward to you joining CPC in August.
Our thanks to Brian Byrne who showcased our Pop Up Cabaret Lounge and Restaurant on p18 of The Kildare Nationalist this week. We appreciate Brian's support of our many initiatives within Transition Year in Cross and Passion College to enhance experience of our students.
We are very proud of our students, Eleanor Steed, Aoibhe Toft and Sam Moussoulides who are representing the Irish delegation at a Model United Nations Conference in Namur, Belgium. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect with students from 12 different countries including Morocco and India as well as European countries. Today they took part in debates and discussions on environmental issues and reintegration of refugees. Tomorrow, they will continue to act as delegates in their relevant committees while later in the day enjoying the sights and culture of Namur with International friends. This opportunity is co-funded by the European Union Erasmus Programme.
Many thanks to all of our players of the CPC Lotto fundraiser (you can support us HERE).
The intention from the beginning was to raise funds that could be used for the benefit of our students...and now is your chance to have your say as to how we could do that!
So, how would you spend €10,000? All suggestions will be considered in the current context of the school and a short list formed. A whole school community vote will then decide the outcome!
