School Lockers

Please make sure your locker is cleared out and left open before you leave school . All locks will be removed and remaining items will be cleared for dumping at the start of the summer holiday. Junior and Leaving Cert students may clear lockers during the exam period.
Book Rental Returns

Students must return rental books to Mr. Stanley before the summer break. Fifth year books will be collected tomorrow, Tuesday at 11:25 am. First and Second year books will be collected on Wednesday, time to be decided.
5th year exams

Fifth year exams start today. A reminder that the normal rules apply regarding students leaving school. Students must have a note and present to to the year head or Ms Cannon and be signed out by parent / guardian. Students will not be allowed to leave the school otherwise. Many thanks.

Please see the attached letter regarding the Second Year school tour.. 21st May, 2019 Information for Students, Parents/Guardians, Second Year School Tour to Baysports, Athlone. Date: Friday, May 24th Cost: €45- Refunds will be payable to some students. Activities: • 1 hour waterpark, • 30 minutes kayaking, • 30 minutes SUP • 30 minutes rafting. Provisional Timetable for the day • 9.00a.m.-Depart St. Jarlath’s College • 10.00-1.30 Bay Sports • 1.45 -3.00- Lunch -Golden Island Shopping Centre-shopping/food • 4.00 p.m. Return St. Jarlath’s College In order to ensure an enjoyable, trouble free and pleasant tour experience for all of us please note the following: These 6 items are essential: 1. Swimming Togs 2. Clothing & footwear a. Hat- Sunhat/ Warm hat (depending on the weather) b. Tracksuit bottoms/Leggings, tee shirt, rain jacket and old runners (for wearing into the water) c. Spare footwear i.e. old runners to protect feet, these will get wet. (No Flip-flops) d. Spare cotton socks for grip on the waterpark e. Dry clothes to wear home f. Plastic bag to put wet clothes into 3. Towel 4. Substantial packed lunch & snacks 5. Sun cream 6. Bottle of water (**Each student must bring a set of old clothes and shoes to wear into the water and a dry outfit and shoes to wear home.) Note: • Water is available at Baysports. • There is no food available at Baysports. • There will food available if required in Golden Island Shopping Centre. Mobile Phones: It is recommended that students do not bring their phones (or any other valuables) with them as we cannot accept responsibility for lost or stolen items. Phones cannot be taken on activities . First Years Well-being talk

Next Monday, May 20th, at 11.25, a representative from Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind will be giving 1st Years a talk as part of 'Wellbeing'. This will be followed up by the completion of a 'blind' obstacle course. Could all 1st years please bring €2 to support the charity and a dark coloured scarf to be used as a blindfold to take part in the obstacle course. Thank you.

A quick message to congratulate all the boys on their impeccable behaviour during the TY tour. They were a credit to themselves and to the college. Well done! Some students still have not submitted their portfolios. Any remaining Portfolios MUST be submitted tomorrow, Monday. The portfolio must also contain their work experience journals.
