Thank you to all our students and staff for walking for Pieta House last Friday and raising much needed funds for the life-saving work that Pieta House does on a day to day basis. A total of €1700 was raised. Well done to our Amber Flag Committee for all their work organising the walks and class quizzes!
Ms. Egan
Well done to all who participated in the South Leinster Track and Field held in Carlow on May 4th. We had many successful performances on the day including Eoin Cassidy who won the Minor Javelin and Tadhg O Neill who won the Minor 500 metre race. Our Minor Relay Team of Harry Feely, Mairtin Cruz, Oscar Gough and Tadhg O' Neill finished in second place. Daragh O' Sullivan finished third in the Junior Javelin. All the best in the Leinsters in late May.
Our inaugural Leaving Certificate Physical Education Class at Naas CBS recently completed and submitted their second project. The Performance Assessment is worth 30% of their Leaving Cert grade and the Physical Activity Project which was completed before Christmas is worth 20%.
6th Year LCPE students completed the Performance Assessment in one of three areas: weight and interval training, middle distance running or badminton. The students performing in middle distance running completed their 800m race in Carlow I.T.
Thanks to the 5th Year LCPE students who participated in the recording of the performance. They benefited from the athletics session and enjoyed the use of the track facilities. This experience and insight will stand to them when they are completing their own Performance Assessment next year.
The 6th Years have returned their focus to preparing for the written exam. We wish them the very best of luck in June.

60 of our Transition Year students had the privilege of travelling to Barcelona over the bank holiday weekend.
Our flight out was in safe hands with student Sam O’Reilly getting to try out the captain’s seat in the cockpit! Photo included below.
Upon our arrival we did a half day tour of the city which included a walk around the magnificent Sagrada Familia.
That evening we went to see Barcelona play Real Betis at their home stadium Camp Nou. Despite Barcelona being in a state of drought, it rained from beginning to end of the match. Luck of the Irish!
Our second day saw us return to Camp Nou for a stadium tour, this time in sunshine.
We then visited the science museum CosmoCaixa before returning back to the hotel to spend some time in the outdoor pool.
Our third day was spent in PortAventura theme park.
On our fourth and final day we visited Tarragona where many ancient ruins remain from its time as the Roman colony of Tarraco.
A fantastic trip and experience for all! A huge thank you to the teachers who travelled with us and looked after the lads throughout; Mr.Keating, Mr.Stephens, Mr.Hughes, Mr.Brecknell and Mr.O’Neill.
I have included a gallery of photos from the trip.
