BT Young Scientists 2025

Congratulations to TY students Ana Walsh, Rachel Ardiff, and Rosie Cudden for being our Holy Faith Clontarf representatives at the BT Young Scientists 2025. They are presenting their project "2 litres of water everyday - ordinary or unnecessary" in the RDS main hall exhibition today, tomorrow Friday, and Saturday.

The students study concluded that all students should make sure to drink a litre of water in school, and another litre of water throughout the rest of the day. They measured physical performance, energy levels, general health, and ability to concentrate. All of which improved by having enough water. However 2 litres proved to be too much for students during school hours.

Students interested in science are recommended to go support the girls and visit the other stands, talks, and exhibition at the event. The HFC students are in row D number 1525.

Junior Cycle Schoolbook Scheme 2024/25 Parent Survey

As part of the government sanction for the scheme the Department has committed to an evaluation of the scheme. An important part of the evaluation is to gather information and feedback from key stakeholders on their experience of the scheme. Teachers are important stakeholders in this scheme as they stand to experience firsthand the effects of the scheme both from the point of view of all of their pupils having access to books and from any possible involvement in the organisation of the scheme in the school.

To support the evaluation, the Department of Education, in consultation with the Department of Public Expenditure, NDP Delivery and Reform, have developed a short feedback survey for parents.

The survey is anonymous, and all data collected will be aggregated if used in any publication.
