Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),
I hope this finds you well and navigating safely through this cold spell. We will continue with the opening arrangements as notified on Tuesday morning, unless conditions change over tonight and tomorrow night. This allows time for everyone to arrive safely and in particular, where buses don't run. We remain uncertain if buses will run, as this information is not provided to the school, but would suggest that you contact the school's section of Bus Eireann to learn more about your local route.
School is continuing for those attending. Where students attend in the morning, they should continue to attend for the entire day. In the exceptional case of a student needing to leave, for whatever reason, please be reminded that a note must be entered on the school app. Students are not permitted to text/phone home from their mobiles during the school day to arrange to be collected from school, without prior notice to the office or to management. Students who are leaving during the school day must be collected by a parent/guardian at the school roundabout/main office.
Teachers are continuing with the curriculum despite having small numbers in classes. In some instances, teachers are working on revision exercises and small group lessons affords opportunity to students to get additional help from teachers.
Continue to travel safely,
Michelle McDermott
Ms. McGrath and her students have been working on a collection of food items for the St. Vincent de Paul. You are invited to donate non-perishable food items to this collection and if you would like to do so, please drop items in to the school office before end of tomorrow Wednesday 14th December.
Well done to all students involved in this initiative!

St Josephs Charlestown 2 - 6 Coláiste Muire Ballymote
The lads picked up their second win in the FAI Connacht League Vs St Joseph’s of Charlestown on Friday 14/10/2022.
Despite the scoreline, the game was very close for the majority of the match. The first 10 minutes was cagey with both teams defending very well. However, it was the away side (Coláiste Muire) that took lead through a very well taken penalty by Ollie Nerney. From there, St Josephs began to get on top and their number 11 played a lovely pass into their striker who found the net with a wonderful strike to leave the game at 1-1 with 25 minutes played. St Josephs had two great opportunities to pull ahead before half time but Matthew Hunt in nets was in fantastic form.
The opening 10 minutes of the second half followed more of the same with both teams missing glorious chances to go ahead. However, on the 56th minute Mark Dunleavy went past two players down the left wing and crossed the ball into the box which ended up in the St Josephs net. St Josephs came back strong again and scored a great goal to leave the game at 2-2 with 25 minutes left to play. It was from here Coláiste Muire began to take control of the game with Thomas Sweeney and Oisin Brennan dictating the play in the middle of the park.
The third goal came from a misplaced kickout by St Joseph’s goalkeeper and Ollie Nerney was at hand to slot it home. Coláiste Muire began to show their class and great play by James Lavin set up Oisin Brennan who scored to leave the game at 4-2. The fifth goal came two minutes later when James Lavin again beat two players in the box and stuck it away with his left foot. Then, substitute Steven Hannon came on and got in on the act with a beautiful right footed finish to the roof of the net to leave the game at 6-2.
Well done to the lads on their second win and will now look forward to their final group fixture V Belmullet in a few weeks time.

The 1st & 2nd Years took part in a blitz at the Leitrim Centre of Excellence in Annaduff on Tuesday (11/10/2022).
The lads were due to play two games but one school unfortuately could not make it. So, the lads played one game Vs Carrigallen and did very well. It was a very even game for the most part but Colaiste Muire came out on top winning the game by 10 points with everyone getting to take part.
Here are some pictures of the lads in action:
