1st Year Soccer Defeated in Leinster Quarter Final

Hard luck to our 1st year soccer team who bowed out of the Leinster cup yesterday after losing on penalties to Clara CS from Offaly. The game finished 1-1 after normal time and the teams could not be separated in extra time. Clara won the shootout 5-4. It was a tremendous year and the future is bright for a very talented team going forward. Well done to coaches Mr. MacManus and Mr.Byrnes for their work throughout the year.

Congratulations to Ben Breslin, 6th year, who won a Garda Youth Award. He was presented with it on Thursday evening in City Hall accompanied by his family. Well done, Ben!
Language Club Success

A great first day was had by all in language club yesterday. Our first and second year students became tongue-tied trying to improve their French and Spanish pronunciation in the tongue twister challenge. They also had to put their memory’s and moves to the test in the last man standing/Simon says competition. Ms Staunton and Ms Antón were delighted with the boys’ efforts and look forward to seeing them again next week.

First Year Soccer Victory

Our first year soccer team had a comfortable 2-0 win over Rockbrook College today to advance to the quarter final of the 1st year cup. Goals from Cillian Kavanagh and Sam Nannery either side of half time gave the Marian boys the victory. It was a great performance by the whole team. They will continue to the next round coached by Mr. MacManus and Mr. Byrnes.

Our First Years enjoyed a History Trip to the Irish National Heritage Park in Co. Wexford yesterday. It was a very informative trip for their history course. Thanks to Ms. Arakelian, Mr. Hopkins and Mr. Hogan who joined the boys on the tour.
