Thank you to our first years who have been busy for the past couple of days gathering rushes to make St. Brigid's Day Crosses. It is lovely to see this tradition continuing among our young people.
St. Brigid's Day Blessing:
May Brigid bless the house wherein we dwell.
Bless every fireside, every wall and door.
Bless every heart that beats beneath its roof.
Bless every hand that toils to bring its joy.
Bless every foot that walks portals through.
May Brigid bless the house that shelters us.
Lovely to see our students and school represented in CEIST's congratulatory message today (middle top).
Last Thursday 26th January our Transition year classes went on their Winter trip to Dundrum on Ice. Students had a great day out and enjoyed some time in Dundrum Shopping Centre after their skating.
The TY Christmas fair was a roaring success on 8th December. Each mini-company was delighted with the level of support from staff and students, which proved that all their hard work in preparation was all worth it. The atmosphere was lovely, lots of smiling faces, sing alongs and bellies full. It was a great way to kickstart the run into the Christmas holidays. Well done to all involved! Keep an eye out for posts next week. There will be some products available for sale to students, staff and parents next week with details on how to order!
We will celebrate the 2nd CEIST Ceilúradh Day on 1st February - the theme for this year's Ceiliúradh is 'One Good Deed'. We look forward to sharing some memories of the day with you at a later date.
We are celebrating Catholic Schools this week 22-29 January 2023 with this year’s theme being ‘Walking Together in Faith & Love’.
Thank you to students and teachers who have participated in a daily thought for the day. Today is grandparents day and pictured here are members of staff, also grandparents, lighting our CEIST school candle in memory of all our grandparents.
We wish Mr. Feeney and the Easkey Junior Hurling Team the very best of luck in the All-Ireland Junior Hurling Club final in Croke Park. Throw-in is at 5pm and Easkey v Ballygiblin will be televised on TG4!
We are very excited to have been approved for the Creative Engagement programme this school year. We welcome Emer O'Donnell who will work with our TY students over the coming weeks to create stained glass pieces for our corridors. Some of our TY students are pictured here creating their designs for the stained glass.
The Creative Engagement programme is co-funded by the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and the Department of Education and Skills. It is an initiative that is coordinated by the National Association of Principals and Deputy Principals in Ireland.
