Attention all 6th year Parents/Guardians
We are holding an information evening regarding student options after Leaving Certificate Thursday 28th November at 7pm in the GP Area. We will discuss CAO/Apprenticeships/PLCs/Tertiary Degrees/DARE/SUSI. We will also take questions on the night if there is anything else you would like to know about. Irish Water leak implications

Dear Parent/Guardian,
Unfortunately, we have been notified that the Lismore water leak will not be repaired until tomorrow evening by 6pm approximately. They have referred us to their reference case number ( WAT00085351 on water.ie ) This means that Blackwater CS will remain closed tomorrow Tuesday on Health & Safety grounds for students.
It is expected that exams will commence on Wednesday 20th, with the scheduled Wednesday timetable and the Monday & Tuesday timetable of this week will run on Monday and Tuesday next week 25th & 26th.
The School building will remain open tomorrow for staff and students who need resources. Once again thank you for your understanding on this matter.

Irish Water alert implications

Hi All,
We have been notified by Irish Water that there is a serious water leak issue in Lismore. They informed us that this is being investigated and worked on. They advised us that we will have no water supply tomorrow until the problem is resolved. Unfortunately ,on Health & Safety grounds we will have to ask students to remain at home tomorrow as we would not have sufficient water for drinking ,washing or toilets to function. We will update you of any progress as soon as we get updates from Irish Water. We appreciate your understanding on this matter.
This Monday’s exams will now be run
on Monday the 25th , we expect Tuesday’s timetable to hopefully run as planned this week.

Assessment and Reporting Cycle ARC

The ARC exam system is designed to assess students through three exams spread across the academic year. Each exam builds on the knowledge and skills learned in previous assessments, encouraging continuous learning and improvement. ARC evaluates cumulative work, meaning students’ performance reflects their progress over time.
ARC 1
begins on Monday. Students’ exams are spread over the week with the opportunity to study between exams. Normal school rules and procedures apply during this week.
Students must wear their black uniform during exam week and have all their own materials for each exam. We would like to wish all students the best of luck.
