Blackwater were defeated in their second game in the U18 hurling competition by John the Baptist Hospital today. Played in absolutely atrocious conditions both teams served up some decent passages of play at times. Hospital scored an early goal but BCS responded with three good points to draw level. Further scores, mainly from frees enabled Hospital to lead 2-7 to 0-6 at half time.
At the beginning of the second half, as conditions continued to deteriorate, mistakes became plentiful and BCS struggled to reel in Hospital’s lead. Despite their best efforts BCS were dealt a blow midway through the second half with the concession of a third goal and Hospital went on to win on a final score line of 4-8 to 0-12.
Thanks to all the lads for their effort over the past two matches. We wish them well with their clubs for the months ahead.
