The second annual STEM South West Industry-led Career Expo took place virtually Wednesday, 13th January 2021. Attracting over 4,000 attendees nationwide, the event was a great success with very positive feedback incoming from all stakeholders involved. For those of you who were unable to attend, the STEM South West virtual platform will remain open until 13th February 2021. It is still possible for you to watch Speakers Corner talks (agenda attached), visit the Exhibition Halls and gain access to 358 STEM resource materials (videos and documents) from 60 exhibitors. You register on www.stemsouthwest.ie to gain access to the Auditorium and download useful resource materials. In particular, the talk by Susan Hayes Culleton, STEM and the Leaving Cert - 6 things you need to consider 2021, would be of interest to TY students in determining subject choices for Senior Cycle and to 6th year students who are filling out their CAO forms at the moment. Another very popular talk on the evening was STEM pushed to the limit: how soft is 4.5 billion year old ice? with Laurence O’Rourke of the European Space Agency".
