Well done to our u-19 team who defeated Longford today in the Midlands Regional Semifinal. Best of luck to them on Wednesday when they meet Colaiste Choilm Tullamore in St. Mary's Hall at 1.45.

A great day was had by our 3rd year english students at the Source Arts Theatre in Thurles. The boys and their teachers attended Cyclones rendition of ‘The Merchant of Venice’ and were lucky enough to be called on stage to help out during ‘The Casket Scene’.

LCVP work experience occurs next week for 5th year students from Tuesday 5th Dec to Friday 8th Dec 2017. Urgent.... parents and students take note ... some students have not informed the relevant teachers of details of work placement as yet. This is essential so that students are insured. Information must be given immediately. Also some students have not picked up the work experience diary from their teachers. Those diaries are available outside my office. A daily record of students’ experience in the work place is part of the final examination. L.Gillson
Irish Science Teachers’ Association Science Quiz

St Mary’s CBS was well represented at the Irish Science Teachers’ Association Science Quiz recently. Luan Fletcher-Calt, Conor Devoy and Paul Booth entered the regional final in Carlow, winning it and receiving 50 euro each. They then attended the National Final in Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute last Saturday. They faced stiff opposition from 50 other schools and just missed out on prize money and 5th place by 1 point. A super performance, well done and congrats on doing brilliantly and winning a spot prize.
