Transition Year Ski Trip 2022

A reminder to 4th Year Students going on the Ski Trip in February 2022 to check that their passports are in date as there is a long wait to have them renewed, and to apply for a EHIC Card (European Health Insurance Card) or renew if it is out of date, as soon as possible.
NEW CONTACTLESS WATER DISPENSERS

The school water dispensers are now activated by a hand hovering over them at a distance of 2cm – 5cm, When the hand is removed, the dispensing will stop. Students will now be able to fill their water bottles at break and lunch times. It is very important that the bottles do not touch the water dispenser to avoid contamination.
Christmas Shoebox Appeal

Over 50 Christmas shoeboxes have been collected so far. 6th year students will be collecting boxes everyday from 1st to 5th November We would encourage as many students as possible to donate to the appeal. Thank you.

The Department of Education has requested that we forward a warning from the Food and Safety Authority of Ireland regarding jelly sweets containing cannabis. This is particularly relevant as we are heading into a mid-term break. I am also forwarding a leaflet from the National Network of Drug and Alcohol Task Forces ( DATFs). This resource provides information on the supports that DATFs offer to schools, parents and students on drug and alcohol use.

Flights have been booked for the 91 Students who paid a deposit for the ski trip and received a receipt. The School Tour Company is still working on accommodation to facilitate the larger group.

Congratulations to Suzie Geraghty (2nd Year) who represented the school in the Killossery Lodge Interschools competition. Suzie came in 4th place with her horse, Creevy Duke. Well done Suzie! Thank you to Ms Tierney for organising and for being there on the day and to the TY students who attended.

1st Year Outing to Botanic Gardens

The 1st Years had a great day in the Botanic Gardens today. The sense of excitement before the group left was great to observe and some went all out with their fancy dress costumes; I think others were holding back until Friday 22nd October. Their behaviour was excellent and was commented on by all the guides. Thank you to Ms Verdon who organised the trip and to Ms Dowling, Ms Nolan, Ms Kavanagh and Ms Jones who accompanied her and the group.
