Dear Friend,

We are reaching out to request your support for our upcoming school musical extravaganza, “Popstars: The 90’s Musical,” which will be held at Holy Family Secondary School from October 14th to 17th, 2024.

After a hugely successful production of ‘Grease’ last year, both our school communities understand the value that drama has for our students. The students from both the Holy Family and Patrician Secondary Schools are busy rehearsing. We look forward to the months to come.

Would you like to be a patron of this year’s school show?

Your support to our school community is invaluable. It would be motivating for the students of both schools to feel that they have the backing of the local community.

As a patron of the show, your namewill be featured in our Show programme in recognition of your support.

Option A (without a ticket to the show)

€50

Option B (with a discounted adult ticket)

Our programme will be finalised on the 1stOctober, 2024. Please email me with the selected option before this date in order to have your name featured in the programme in recognition of your support.

Active Schools Questionnaire
Created : 09 Sep 2024, 7:21 PM
Archived : 09 Nov 2024, 12:00 AM

As you may be aware our school is working towards an Active Schools Flag. Each year the students complete a questionnaire around their physical activity levels, barriers to physical activities and things they would like to see in the school that may improve physical activity levels. The results of this questionnaire form the data around which all Active Schools initiatives in the school are based. There is further information surrounding the research in the pdf attached and also in the video: vimeo.com/616922710/cacc13464b?share=copy

The questionnaire will be administered to all 1st Years in their next PE class.

Consent is required in order for your daughter to complete this questionnaire. If you have read and understood the information on the attached form, have read and explained the information to your child, and are happy for your child to take part in the survey there is NOTHING you need to do.

If you DO NOT want your child to take part in the survey please discuss this with your daughter and she can let the PE teacher know that she will not be taking part.

Many thanks,

Mr. E. Beggy
(Active Schools Co-Ordinator)

HFSS Parents Association AGM

7.30pm Tuesday 24th September 2024 At the Holy Family Secondary School

 Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is the start of a new school year; therefore, we would like to invite you to the AGM of the Parents Association of the Holy Family Secondary school.  The AGM will be followed by a short Parents Association meeting.  As parents and guardians of the students attending the Holy Family Secondary School, you automatically belong to the Parents Association.  The Association meets one Monday each month at 7.30pm in the school.

 Our role in the school

  • Review and advice, as required, with the principal and staff on school policies.
  • Fundraising for the benefit of the school, e.g., Christmas raffle.
  • Build effective partnership between school and the home.
  • Maintain communication with the school and keep up to date with school news.
  • We seek to support and promote the wellbeing of the school, the students and each other.

We are always looking for fresh ideas to bring to our school community and parents are one of our greatest resources.  With that in mind we are always looking for new members to join our association.  We would encourage you to come and get involved.

If you cannot attend the meeting but would like to be included on a mailing list, you may email your contact details to hfssparentsassociation@gmail.com.

We would like to remind you of our two rolling fundraisers for the school. The Lotto and the Cash-for-clothes collection. Our aim is to raise funds to refurbish the Front Hall Stage. In this way, we are supporting the creative arts for HFSS students.
