We encourage you to discuss this with your daughter and share any tips you may have from your own experience. We are pleased to announce that our school leadership team is participating in the Forbairt Leadership Programme this year. Forbairt is a one-year programme of online and face-to-face engagements, designed to enhance leadership skills and capacity through professional development, reflection, collaboration, and a school-based improvement project.
Our team—comprised of Deputy Principal Eimear O'Brien, Assistant Principals Dearbháil Dowling, Shane Stapleton, and Cian Sweeney—has chosen to focus on promoting diversity, inclusion, and challenging racism within our school. This important work will be guided by The Yellow Flag Programme.
The Yellow Flag Programme provides a practical series of 8 steps over 2 years that embeds interculturalism, equality, and diversity into the everyday life of the school. Working with students, staff, parents, and the wider community, the programme ensures that these values are applied both inside and outside of the classroom. We hope to be awarded the Yellow Flag in recognition of our commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion through these steps.
We are now calling on students to apply via their Teams Year page to join the Diversity Committee to enact meaningful change within our school community.

Parents' Association LOTTO countdown
Thursday, 26th of September marks the first National SNA Appreciation Day. Thank you to Eithne, Dee & Niamh (our amazing SNAs) for all that they do for so many in our school.
SNA Appreciation Day is held across Ireland today, for the first time, to celebrate the work being done in Irish schools.
Well done to the powerful student leadership from the Anti-Bullying Ambassadors as they led a whole school reflection week during RESPECT WEEK at HFSS.
They ran a week long campaign looking at aspects of how all can be empowered to tackle bullying issues.
