Schoolbooks Grant for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Years, 2024/25

As you may have heard in the media, the government have committed to providing books etc. to Junior Cycle students for September 2024.

Schools have only recently received information from the department on the details of this scheme and we will be putting it in place in due course. We will contact you in due course when we have more details from the department.

Please find a letter attached that we have been requested to circulate to you.

Reminder - 2nd year Parent Teacher Meeting - Tuesday 12th March

As per the calendar sent to parents in August, the 2nd Year PTM takes place next Tuesday, 12th March in Rosary Hall, from 4:10pm to 6:40pm.

Limited parking is available in both the left and right car parks but please park externally or avoid bringing a car if at all possible.

World Book Day 2024

Tomorrow is World Book Day! It's a special day to celebrate books and encourage everyone to read more. It's never too early or late to start loving books. 5th Year Subject Choice & Transition Year Information Meeting

The school will hold a joint 5th Year Subject Choice and Transition Year information meeting for the parents of 3rd Year students on Wednesday 6th March 2024 at 7pm in Rosary Hall.

The meeting will outline important information about both the Transition Year programme and 5th Year subjects, and will help parents and students make an informed decision as to the most appropriate path to take after Junior Cert.

This meeting is for Parents/Guardians only as students will attend a separate information session during school time.

 

An information letter is attached and was also given to the students by hand previously.

Talks for Parents and Teachers on Adolescent Wellbeing- University College Dublin

UCD's school of Psychology have organised a free webinar series for parents/teachers or anyone interested in adolescent mental health.  

The three webinar talks will take place on the 5th, 12th and 19th of March from 7-8 pm. 

 

The talks are being organised by Masters students Hau Nguyen and Michelle Conway from the School of Psychology at University College Dublin. Who at present, are conducting research examining adolescent mental health and their intentions to seek help.

This is a reminder for anyone applying for HEAR/DARE
 
The HEAR deadline for the completion of the online form is this Friday the 1st of March at 5pm. You complete this as part of the CAO application. All HEAR related documents must reach the CAO by 5pm on the 15th of March.
 
The DARE deadline for the completion of Section A (Supplementary Information Form) is this Friday the 1st of March at 5pm. You complete this as part of the CAO application. All DARE related documents (Section B and Section C) must reach the CAO office by 5pm on the 15th of March.
 
It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that all documents reach the CAO office on time.
 
RSE Classes 5th Year

All 5th years have been given a letter today regarding RSE (Relationship & Sexuality Education) that will take place in school over the coming weeks.
 
Can you please ask your daughter for the letter as it contains information regarding these classes.

Parents' Council Meeting

A message from the Parents' Council:

Dear Parents, we invite you to attend the Parents' Council meeting tomorrow at 8pm in the school. The Parents' Council is a very active body that provides a high level of support to the school, and we would be delighted to have you join us. The Parents' Council meets once a month with two staff members and the Principal to discuss school-related issues and to organize events.

Parental involvement in the school benefits students, parents, and the school itself. We encourage as many parents as possible to become involved in the Parents' Council
