Attendance Awareness Week

This week is Attendance Awareness Week in BCS. Good attendance in school helps you to achieve the results you want, improves your relationships with your friends and teachers while also preparing you for the working world. 
As part of this, we are running a number of competitions for students throughout the week. These include a Tik-Tok video competition, poster competition & overall attendance competition. More details on these and on other activities can be found on posters around the school. So please do your very best to be in school and to be on time! However, if you are sick or have a valid reason for being absent, then please ensure that a note is submitted on the school app.

First Year Student Grace Oakley Nolan had a fantastic day out on Sunday at the Munsters in University Limerick. Early start was rewarded with a great experience of swimming in their state of the art pool.. the competition was fierce, and Grace gave it her absolute best and got two great seed times. Grace represented the school with great pride and is already looking forward to next year. we also hear this morning that Grace has been picked to go on an international girl guide camp in August. The camp is taking place over 5 days in Foxlease Outdoor Adventure Centre , Hampshire, England. Grace will be travelling with 15 other Guides from across Ireland.

On Wednesday our Green Schools Committee members, along with Ms. O’ Sullivan, Mr. Joyce and Ms. Meagher went to do a river clean up and water pollution check on our local Owenashad river. We met with Brid Nolan from Lismore Tidy Towns who shared a wealth of knowledge about local biodiversity.
