Parent's Council AGM

The Parent's Council AGm was held on Wed 11/10/17. A new Committee was elected. Sadie McEvoy is the new Treasurer, Caroline McCormack is the new Secretary, and Geraldine Whalley remains on as Chairperson. Please come along to the next meeting on Wed November 8th. It is not all about fundraising. Parents have an opportunity to ask questions, Mr Thomspon, Mr Mulligan and Ms Murphy are there to answer your queries, (some or all three of them) Policies pertaining to the school and the students will be discussed at these meetings and you can only learn more by attending. Thank you to those who did attend last night and to our new Committee, we wish you luck in the coming school year.
High Achiever in 2017 Maths & Science JC Exam

Thomas Dunne, currently in TY, has been identified by the State Exams Commission as one of these High Achievers. He is now going forward for selection to represent Ireland at the EU Science Olympiad. The National Olympiad Competitions will be held in November in DCU. We wish Thomas the best of luck and want to congratulate him on this great achievement.

On Monday the U14 footballers play Colaiste Colm in Carlow.
On Wednesday, the Senior hurlers play Boyne Community School.
Also on Wednesday, the U15 soccer team play Rochfortbridge. This is an away match.
Skillzone for TY's

All TY's will travel to Dublin on Tuesday 10th to Skill Zone, which is a multi-sport indoor arena. Ten different sports are incorporated in this arena and it should be a great day for all the students.
5th Year Ag Science/Biology Trip

On Friday, October 13th, the 5th Year Biology and Ag Science students will travel to NUIM (Maynooth) for a special day learning about their subjects.

On Friday 13th, Ms Carroll will take all Meitheal, Treoiri and Student Council Reps to a Student Leadership Bonding Day in Dublin. Permission slips are being sent home today with the students. Please ensure it is signed and returned to school if your son is one of this group.

Our reading for relaxation began this morning at 9 am when all the 1st, 2nd and 3rd years began the day with a good book! Anyone who forgot their book, and there were very few, should remember to have one for tomorrow morning.

The 2nd Year Coffee Morning is on Thursday morning, October 12th, at 10 am in LR1, downstairs in the school building.
The 6th Year Parent Teacher Meeting is next Wednesday, the 11th October, at 4.15 until 6.45. - please note correction.
Classes will end at 3.45 for the parent teacher meeting. Buses will go as normal, at 4pm.
Closing date for receipt of 2018 First Year Applications is this Friday 13th at 10 am.
