On Sunday, May 14, 2023, in Cahir Park in Tipperary, three first-year students—Ciarán Kelly, Eoin McCarthy, and Jack Mills—of the Midleton Soccer Club won the National Cup for under-14s. Against Belvedere, Dublin, they triumphed 5-1.

Congratulations to the Learning and Teaching Committee on being awarded Léargas Erasmus+ funding for a third consecutive year. This funding was awarded for our project entitled: Exploring the Impact of Teacher Peer Observation in the Netherlands: A Study of Strategies for Engaging Teaching Staff, Nurturing a Culture of Innovation, and Promoting Reflective Practice. LAOS (Domain 4). This allows us to observe best practice in teaching and learning in the other EU high performing jurisdictions and continue our improvement orientation in the College.

We were delighted to welcome Minister for Finance Mr Michael McGrath TD. to CBC this morning. Minister McGrath met with student leaders to discuss a range of issues of importance to young people and addressed a whole school assembly.
Congratulations to James Young, Fifth Year, who took Silver medal in the Australian National Championship in Perth over Easter. James competed in five different events, culminating in success in U19 Coxed 8.

Congratulations to five students from the Leaving Cert Class of 2022 who have been awarded entrance scholarships to University College, Dublin. Zareef Hossain, Eoin Kennelly, Oliver Leahy, Daniel Lucey and Finn Whooley will receive their awards at a special ceremony next week. 15 University Scholarshps have now been awarded to students from last year's Leaving Certificate class.
