Well done to Third Year pupil Donnacha O’ Halloran who is part of a team of volunteers working with Benchspace Cork, a co-making workshop which is aiming to help with the shortage of personal protection equipment by producing face shields using 3D printers. Benchspace is currently engaged in fundraising to help with the cost of materials and distribution. Donations can be made through Go Fund Me and all contributions are very much appreciated. The Minister for Education has announced that schools will not reopen before Monday 20 April. The Department of Education and Skills remains committed to running State Exams as planned. Arrangements in relation to Covid-19

Following advice from the Department of Science and Skills and the Health and Safety Authority the College will remain closed until Monday 30 March. Parents and students have been informed of the measures taken to ensure classes can continue by remote learning. All students should register for their classes on Google Classroom using their school email. Codes will be published on the College App. Details on e-book access are also available on the app. Communication with parents and students will be via the College App. Students should follow their normal school timetable and continue to work as normal, following the advice of your teachers. The Minister for Education has announced that Leaving Cert oral exams and practical components of subjects such as Junior Cert and Leaving Cert Music have been cancelled and all students are to be awarded full marks for these components. The deadline for coursework and Junior Cycle assessment tasks for English, Irish, Science, Business and languages has been extended to May 15 2020. All Ireland Lego Robotics League Final

On Saturday a team of ten boys from First and Second year represented the school in the All Ireland First Lego League final in Dublin. 24 teams from all over Ireland qualified to take part in the Final. Darragh Kielty, Liam Cassidy, Tomás Spelman, Ronan O'Keeffe, Aryan Nasser, Jagat Gogineni, Oran Kielty, Euan Harrison, Darren Sexton, Ruairí Walsh, qualified for this event as Regional Champions in the tournament final in Cork before Christmas. Well done to all for their fantastic achievement, to mentor teacher Ms Tanya Clifford for her support and guidance, and to Head of Science Ms Martina Carroll who also accompanied the team to the Final.

Well done to our 7 Applied Maths teams which took part in the Irish Applied Maths Quiz (Munster Round) last night. Congratulations to Tommy Connolly, Eoghan Heaney and Sean O'Connell who were placed 2nd and to Jack O'Sullivan, Ciarán Kelleher and Rory Rochford who were placed 3rd. Both teams will now go forward to the IAMTA Final in Athlone later this month.
Junior Cup Rugby Semi-Final

Well done to our Junior team on reaching the final at the Munster's School's Junior Cup following their comprehensive win over Crescent Comprehensive in Irish Independent Park yesterday. We now look forward to the Junior Final in Limerick on 24 March against St Munchins.
