Congratulations to our school choir on their achievement last evening in Council Buildings - our choir were nominated and selected for An Cathaoirleach's 'Arts & Culture' award for 2022.  One of only 8 awards issued by An Cathaoirleach annually, this is a prestigious occasion for our students and their choir leaders Mr O'Connor and Ms. Heaney McGreal.  Thank you to Sarah, Malachi and Kelly who represented our 75-strong choir at the presentation on Wednesday 1st February.  This was a wonderful conclusion to our CEIST Ceiliúradh Day yesterday given that a number of our choir were part of the playing of 'Tamhair dom do Lámh' to over 108 CEIST school Principals and Boards of Management last February 1st, 2022.

This is not the last we will see of our choir this year, who will travel to Dublin on 3rd March to take part in the Wesley College Choral Festival - go n-eirí an t-ádh libh!

CEIST Ceiliúradh Day 1st February

Students lighting our CEIST candle this morning to begin our CEIST Ceiliúradh Day celebrations. CEIST Ceiliuradh Day, which we celebrate today is a new annual event which we share with 108 other schools around the country who are under the CEIST trusteeship like ourselves.  Today marks the 16th anniversary of the day we joined the CEIST trust, prior to this we were known as a Mercy school founded by the Sisters of Mercy.

The word Ceiliuradhmeans a celebration and today, we celebrate the theme of ‘One Good Deed’.  We would ask you all to remember this throughout the day and later at home and think about doing something positive for a friend/neighbour/family member.
