As you know sports equipment, buses, and maintenance fees can be very expensive considering the number of teams we have here in the school. Below is the list of students who have confirmed their availability for the bag pack in Dunnes Stores, Newbridge this week. All students must meet at the Downeys bus stop at 8:30 where you will meet your supervising teacher. Any student who has been left off this list or is unable to attend must come to Mr Brennan today. The Sports Department appreciates the cooperation of all students involved.

CBS had 28 athletes competing in the Indoor Diversity Games in Athlone IT on Wed 12th Dec. With medals won in almost every event; highlights of the day were Eoin Keenan jumping a big personal best of 6.31m and Kevin Ogedegbe in the 200m. Also Senior Boys won overall team in a competitive field. Well done to everyone who took part on the day.!

Senior Cycle Reform Handouts

Most parents who attended the 5th / TY Parent Teacher Meeting on Thursday evening received a Senior cycle Review Handout which nearly all took home with them to complete. Would all those parents please return the last 2 pages of the handout (those you wrote on) to the school office by next Wednesday at the latest. (No names required at all). These will be handed onto the NCCA who are overseeing this Senior Cycle Review. Thank you all very much for the time spent completing this.

When a parent receives a call from the school (but misses it)

This is obviously an issue when a parent receives a call from the school number, returns the call and nobody in the office knows who rang this parent. Some parents are quite understanding that the office staff didn't make the call and that if a teacher/year head did, that they will ring back. Sometimes a parent does not accept that the office staff couldn't possibly have any idea who placed the call - because it was not made from the school office in the first place. I have asked teachers to leave voice mails if at all possible so the parent knows whom to ask for. But we don't all listen to our voicemails nor have voicemail set up. If the office staff don't know who rang you, I'm sure the teacher who did ring you will get back to you again. Thank you very much for your understanding and patience. I do understand that when you get a call from school all sorts of ideas come to your mind and you want an answer - now. But if it is really drastic, it would be either myself, Mr Thompson, Mr Mulligan or the office staff who would be placing the call. Again, thank you.
