Dear 3rd year parents/guardians,
Next Thursday, the 11th of May, the Third Years will be heading to GoQuest as part of their end of year trip! Students will be leaving school in the morning at 8:20am and will return around 1:30pm for their last class. The fee is €30 per student. This trip was chosen and created by the 3rd year students, and it will be an amazing experience, as they will build on teamwork and problem-solving skills!
Another event is being organised on their final day of school (30th of May) as a treat for their hard work, kindness and effort this year!
If you have any questions, please email Rowie (rowiemurphy@hcetss.ie).

Dear parents, guardians,
We are delighted to inform you that the Department of Education have resumed the process for the construction of our 1000 student permanent accommodation. This is really wonderful news for our school community. We will be in contact with you after the Easter holidays once we have received more details around the tender progression for our project.
Thank you all for your support and action in advocating for our school.
Enjoy the rest of the holidays.
Kind regards,
The HCETSS Team.
Dear parents/guardians,
Some of you indicated that they would like to use a template letter in order to contact the local TD's. I attach the letter in pdf form.
Kind regards, School Office
Dear parents and guardians,
We are delighted to inform you that shortly, we will be open the first ever library at HCETSS!
Our library will be situated in classroom 4, which students will have full access to at lunch and after school, under the supervision of our dedicated library committee and support from a supervising teacher. This project is entirely student led and will be open to the whole student body starting on the 27th of April. To launch its opening, on 27th April, we will host a whole school ‘Drop Everything And Read’ (DEAR) initiative during the first and last period. More information on this to follow.
Our library will include a comfortable couch, cosy beanbags, and a study area with tables and seating available. The shelves will be equipped with books for all reading levels and abilities, as well as books in different languages, such as Spanish, Ukrainian and as Gaeilge.
An online booking system will be in place to reserve spots for students looking to use this space. To ensure all students receive equal access to our reading and study facilities, each year group will have a designated day to visit the library during lunch and after school hours., i.e. Monday - First year, Tuesday - Second Year, Wednesday - Third Year etc. As we currently have only three year groups, the two remaining days will run on a first-come-first-served basis. Students will be informed on how to use the booking system in their Student Enrichment Module class or S.P.H.E class in the week prior to the grand opening.
As we are still a growing school, we welcome and encourage all donations of any kind. From books to fairy lights, we want to ensure our peers have a calm and inviting space to enhance their literary skills, encourage learning and prioritise their overall wellbeing. All donations can be left in the reception office. We really appreciate your generosity and kindness!
If you have any questions or concerns, please free to email our student library committee at library@hcetss.ie, or contact Leonna Condron at leonnacondron@hcetss.ie.
We look forward to sharing further updates with you in due course!
Kindest regards,
Caoimhe, Chloé, Evie, Stella, Paddy and Cara
The Library Committee
Celebrate the grand opening of the HCETSS library with us by bringing in your favourite book. We will host a Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) for 20 minutes during Period 1 and Period 6.
A member of the library committee will be around to show you to book into our library!
We are also also looking for any donations of books! Please drop any donations into the receiption for Leonna, or email library@hcetss.ie for any questions or enquiries.
Kind regards,
Leonna
