Congratulations to the Under 17s Ballymote/Bunninadden team who defeated Tubbercurry/Cloonacool on Saturday night under lights in Keash on a score line of 3-12 to 1-14. Well done to all our Colaiste Muire students involved.
Dear Students/Parents,
Colaiste Muire 8 - 4 Clifden Community School (05.10.2023)
The lads opended their FAI Connacht league with a remarkable comeback win in Castlebar on Thursday.
Match Report:
The game was played in perfect conditions in Milebush, Castlebar. It was Clifden that started the game on the front foot captailising on a few mistakes from our lads as they raced into a 3-0 cushion with 30 mins played. The game ebbed and flowed for the next ten minutes but nice work down the right lead to a chance for Eoghan Nerney and he confidently slotted the ball into the net to leave it at 3-1. But just before the break, CCS scored a great team goal from a lighting quick counter-attack which left the game at 4-1 at half time.
The lads let off the handbrake for the second half and truly showed their footballing ability. It was constant pressure from CMBM which lead to three quick fire goals from Emmauel Oyewusi, Calvin Hogge & Eohgan Nerney. There were no sign of slowing down and on the 65th Minute Paddy Muldoon snuck in behind the CCS defence to put us 1 up (5-4). CMBM kept exploting the space behind and added three more before the final whistle.
Fantatsic effort and attitude from the lads who sit top of the group and will now face Balla Secondary School, Co Mayo after mid-term.
Scorers: Eoghan Nerney x2, Emannuel Oyewusi x2, Calvin Hogge x2 & Paddy Muldoon x2
We'd like to wish Eoghan Nerney a speedy recovery from his unfortunate shoudler injury.
