Well done to the U19 girls basketball team who travelled to Castlerea on Tuesday 9th of January to compete in the Regional quarter finals. The girls started very well taking the lead within the first few minutes and managing to hold onto the lead into the second half. Colaiste Muire started to get a little tired which led to Elphin getting on top. With Colaiste Muire down by four points and two minutes remaining on the clock it was a nail biting finish. Colaiste Muire fought hard and managed to level the game in the last few seconds to take the game to extra time. The U19 girls dug deep and came out on top with a 6 point win in the end to see them through to the Regional semi-final verus Grange in the coming weeks. Well done to all the girls for such an excellent team effort and best of luck in the next round. A special mention to the U16 girls who also came away with a win on the day. Well done to all involved!

Congratulations to 5th year students, Ódhran Fallon, Kian Mullen, Darragh Colsh, Sarah Walsh, Aisling Lyons and Emma Chambers who won their 5th year Sport Education Soccer Module as part of PE. This took place on Monday 11th of December. Working consistently over the course of the eight week module the team managed to combine a significant score giving them the lead they needed heading into the tournament. With the great effort of team colours on the day this made all the difference when it came to the final scores. Well done to all 5th years on a very successful term in PE.
Rowing Success!
Forty three students from a range of year groups travelled to the Regional Sports Complex yesterday morning to compete in the Indoor Schools Sligo Rowing Blitz. The students had an excellent day out with many students getting the opportunity to experience rowing for the first time. We hope this has now inspired them to continue rowing and get involved in future rowing events.
Congratulations to Sarah Walsh in 5th year who placed first in the U18 category and her sister Claire Walsh in 2nd year who placed first in the U14 category. A big congratulations to the two teams who also placed first in the relay events, in the U14 girls relay the team consisted of: Claire Walsh, Megan McDermott, Kayla Scanlon and Grace Hegarty. Well done to the U18 mixed relay team also Darragh Colsh (5th year), Sarah Walsh (5th year), Claire Walsh (2nd Year), Luca Gardiner (5th year) and Jake Healy (TY). A very successful and enjoyable day for all. We look forward to next year!
