Hard luck to our Senior Gaelic Football team who lost the Munster final to Ennistymon Community School on a score of 2-8 to 0-8.
The final was played in TUS Limerick under ideal conditions. Two bus loads of Pres supporters travelled to encourage their team and certainly made their presence heard!
Pres started well and took an early lead but Ennistymon replied immediately with a goal. Pres were unlucky in then conceeding a penalty which Ennistymon goaled and Pres were left chasing the game for the rest of the afternoon. Despite dominating much of the second half in terms of posession, Ennistymon defence closed out the Pres attack.
The Pres team battled hard and never gave up. The Pres team showed great spirit and hopefully this is somethging our 4th and 5th Yr. players can build on for next year and beyond.
The wait of one hundred and two years for a senior Munster GAA title continues for now!

Recently five of our students attended the Davis College Model United Nations. Our students, Tadgh O’Connor, Cian O’Mahony, Leon Murphy, Rua MacSweeny and Ronan McCarthy, are all members of Pres. Debating Society.
Model United Nations is an event in which young people act as “delegates” from certain countries, such as Russia or the United States. They then participate in a series of debates with other “delegates” representing other countries, who act in that country’s interest. They discuss important issues related to world events and current affairs affecting people today.
Tadgh acted as the delegate of Iraq in the Special conference and debated topics such as IVF and Fossil Fuel consumption. The Conference was very enjoyable, with both serious work and light hearted fun, such as the attempted reformation of the Soviet Union (twice), or the proposal to clone Donald Trump.
Our students would recommend DCMUN to anyone interested in politics, acting or TY’s as it is both an educational and enjoyable experience.
It was certainly a week to remember!
Congratulations to our Junior B rugby squad on winning the Kidney Cup at Musgrave Park against local rivals C.B.C. on a scoreline of 24 - 20.
