Huge congratulations to Dan Downey, who once again has won both Leinster CE and just 10 days later was crowed All Ireland Schools Champion in the Combined Events. What is a very busy day, competing in long jump, shot putt, 60m hurdles, 200m and 800m. The person with the highest score based on performance in each event takes the glory. With only two events to go (200 & 800m), Dan was in 3rd place, with the top 4 within grasp of the gold. Dan put in a huge performance ‍️ to claim the gold in the final event! Cool and composed as always, Dan showed his class once again and will be representing Ireland in the International Combined Events.

James Delaney, in 5D, son of Liam and Brenda Delaney, returned home from Kolcatta, India, after a once in a life time experience. He first had to raise €2,500 and he travelled with a group from all over Leinster, including 7 girls from Scoil Christ Ri. They visited hospitals, creches and schools which have been set up by the Hope Foundation during the week they spent there. We are extremely proud of James and look forward to him sharing some of his experiences with us after the Midterm.

FAO LC Students - Very Important - Leaving Certificate Self Service Portal
Created : 24 Oct 2024, 9:07 PM
Archived : 24 Dec 2024, 12:00 AM
The Candidate Self Service Portal will close this Friday 24 October at 5 pm.

All candidates complete this important first step in their journey towards the 2025 Leaving Certificate.

We would ask that you continue to remind candidates to register through the Portal before the deadline.

For any school considering facilitating the registration process in school, it is a very simple 4-step process once candidates have their information to hand.  The process should take no more than 10 minutes from start to finish and requires candidates to;

  1. access the portal using their examination number and the first four digits of their PPSN.
  2. create an account adding their mobile phone numberan email address that they can access immediately and will have access to over the summer, and a secure password.
  3. confirm their registration by clicking a verification link in an email that they will receive from the SEC
  4. log into their account to check their subject entries; confirm their entry level, removes any subjects they will not be sitting and adds any subjects which are not recorded.

As well as confirming their subjects and levels at this time, the Candidate Self Service Portal is the gateway to further stages of the 2025 Leaving Certificate including access to the results and the later stages of the process such as the appeals application process.

The portal can be accessed here 2025 Candidate Self Service Portal (examinations.ie)   The CSSP helpdesk is available for assistance from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours candidates can email candidateportal@examinations.ie

Candidates will have the opportunity to update their choices when the CSSP reopens in the Spring.

We appreciate your continued assistance with this important process.

Thank you.

Public Announcement: Help us spread Christmas cheer for a Family in Need

Dear St. Mary's CBS Community,
As part of our tradition, the school staff has come together each year to anonymously support a family in need during the holiday season, ensuring they experience the joy and warmth of Christmas. This year, the family we’ve identified—a single parent with several children—faces challenges far greater than we can address alone.
To truly make a difference, we are reaching out to you, our incredible school community, for support. Together, we can provide this family with essentials like food and meaningful Christmas gifts for the children. Every contribution, big or small, will go directly toward easing their struggles and bringing joy to their Christmas experience.
Here’s how you can help:
  • Donations: Monetary contributions can be made in cash to the school office or to our Go Fund Me found at this link.  https://gofund.me/b6b066d0

  • Deadline: We kindly ask for donations by Wednesday 18th December so we can ensure everything is ready in time for Christmas.
Let’s come together to show the true spirit of generosity and community that defines St. Mary's CBS. Your kindness can make a world of difference for this family.
Thank you for being a part of this meaningful initiative.
Warm wishes,
Maura Murphy
